Model Release Forms?
Do you guys have your own model release forms written up by your lawyer or do you just use a template one found on the net somewhere? If I have one drawn up, are there any specific things I should look out for?
If you have one you don't mine sharing can you post a link to it here or e-mail it to me? jason(@)badassteens.com I appreciate it |afro| who doesn't love a smiley with an afro? |
Our Lawyer's do our legal forms for us, it's the safest way to go, as many states have different regs on what they might consider legal in these forms, not sure a blanket form would be the best choice for you or your model.

hrm, i had a feeling that was the case.
alright, thanks for the tip John |
Model release..
You don't need to pay a lawyer...
Here in the UK I have 3 versions of our model release forms. In Canada they need to have certain wording which is different to the UK and I believe that in the US they are different again. There are quite a few model/photographer forums on line and I suggest you post on one of them and you'll get what you need free of charge and totally correct/usable for the country you live in :) |
can you suggest any reputable model forums?

I had my law firm draw up mine for next to nothing.

Get a lawyer - it's the only way you know for sure you have all your bases covered.

Model release...
I was given mine by pro photographers who have used them for years in the UK :) Basically a model release is for the model to sign allowing what ever rights you may need to publish her pics anywhere.. Whether as is, modified or in fact anything you want to do with them. Though legally.. If you have paid a model for a shoot you then own the copyright to the images whether she signs a release or doesn't and can still do what you want... Some models have their own release forms which have stipulations regarding where their images may be published and can ask a photographer to sign hers in reverse. I've worked with girls who didn't mind being on the net on a pay site but would have freaked if they appeared in a magazine, so their release bans this type of publication...
This subject has been discussed many times on sites such as www.net-model.com and other model/photographer listing sites. This is also accepted world wide. As for forums.. Start here: http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...q=model+forums Jason where do you live.. UK.. US.. Australia or where ? |
