Has anybody ever had any good results from using those Search Engine Submission sites?

There is no reason to submit your sites to a search engine so I'd say they are a waste of time.

As long as your site is linked to or is pinging out anywhere, the search engines will crawl you. Submitting them is no longer necessary.
