that sucks bad man, it's a bitch to get that shit off your computer too, adaware and spybot dont solve the problem either, if you need help i can give you a link to a good "help" forum, with real techs, and its free, i'm getting mine fixed with the help of these guys

Jesus H Christ, your ass must hurt. That is one of the worst things I have seen happen to anyone. Losing the traffic is one thing but paysites and members, designs, ect.

When I first read it I thought it was another godaddy nightmare. ggross that really sucks. The first thing I would do is email my members and let them know you will be up shortly. Maybe offer a free month to existing members or members who recently departed. Get some real domains and upload quick. I hope everything works out.

why does the domain registrar make a difference? is there something wrong with godaddy??

No, there's not. Some people have had problems with them but the majority of the feedback I've seen is positive, including my own. Been using them for a couple years or so now and not a single problem. I'd recommend them to anyone.

You're setting up paysites and and chose to register a sub domain to 'save a buck'?? A domain is like $8 per year! Surely you know the benefits of having your own top level domain?

I am working with Verotel right now. The new domain is http://lesbians-kiss.com . Will be operational within two days.

Now, I would like to let everyone know what happened. I have been in touch with Gord - the owner of domainnamesystems.com . And I will say he is really a stand up guy.

I did not realize that I was buying sub-domains. Stupid me |raygun| . So it is partially my own fault. When they came out with that new law about 6 months ago, I figured by purchasing .xxx.us (which I thought to be a new extension) so people could not say that they did not know it was an Adult Site they were surfing to. Gord, at the same time, starting selling the .xxx.us extension, as a new venture.

Well, it did not work out to be profitable for him. He said a letter was sent out in Nov. to let us know that they would no longer service or sell those anymore (which I did not recieve). They took the name servers down in December. Which should have killed the sites immediately. But for some reason it did not kill mine. It only killed mine when they put the name servers back online a few days ago & switched all dns over.

I finally got in touch with Gord yesterday. And being the stand up guy that he is, he refunded the money that I had paid to register those sites. So I just purchased two new domains to replace the ones lost. And yes, I got .com . I will say that Gord did not have to refund the money, he had every right not to. But he is a stand up guy.

Good for both of you. I hope things get worked out in an equitable fashion. :)
