The "New" new version of the ARS Refferal CPM program...I got Q's?????
 

For anyone that missed it...ARS has restructed AGAIN...already :) It was needed for sure however. They have changed their payout on their webmaster refferal CPM program. I dont quite understand it though. Here is what was posted by Becky @ ARS4Real:

The original intent for the WM Ref Program was not to be used as a message board sig program. However, everyone has used it for that purpose on GFY. In an attempt to correct the problem, we will be cutting the payout per CPM in half. 70% of the remaining 50% will be credited to webmasters. The remaining 30% will be credited to GFY. This change will not affect the Per Click Payout. The program and pay rates will continue unchanged for all uses other than a GFY message board sig. To receive the full payout, you must submit your URL, and will receive the full payment amount once approved. Again, this change affects ONLY GFY message board signatures, and not the standard Webmaster Referral Program.

What is the the 70% and 30% about, i dont quite get it? Anyone know?

I read it as ARS is saying that GFY traffic is crap so they won't pay as much for it as they do for other boards, like this one.

I get that part. But what about the 70% to webmaster and 30% to gfy part of the remaining 50%?

As your signature file says
You get $5 per 1000 impressions.
ARS has changed that for sig files on GFY so instead of you getting $5/1000 impressions, you are now getting, $4.25/1000 impressions and GFY is getting $.75/1000 impressions from your sig file.

And while Cleo is probably right, I would expect ARS to do the same thing with all boards in the near future.

They have got to do something to discourage webmasters from using their program on sig files. As Becky said, "The original intent for the WM Ref Program was not to be used as a message board sig program".

It has got to be costing them a fortune right now with so many people using it that way.

So which of the following are you saying:

1) GFY sigs now earn 75 cents CPM
2) GFY sigs now earn 2.50 cent CPM
3) All CPM is now 4.25 and they are paying gfy 75 cents CPM to make up for all the sig whores that came out to play
4) I still get 5 CPM...GFY users get 4.25 and gfy itself gets 75 cents to make up for the crap traffic

You are now getting $4.25/1000 on your GFY sig file and GFY is getting the other $.75/1000.

Wait...I read that wrong. They are cutting it in half on GFY.
Which means on GFY you will be making 70% of $2.50/1000 impressions. Or, you are now getting $1.75/1000 impressions on GFY sig files.

Wow...was I way off or what?

I found the wording of their explanation stupid bordering on retarted...I didnt read through it to the extent i normally would cuz the poor use of the english language was giving me a headache :)

It really was easy to figure out once I read the entire post. And Bill, check it out when the board loads, I hate to admit it but the ARS banners and buttons load faster than ours :)

Yeah like any of use would actually whore out our sig file. :D

I got to say I finally made it over to the new admin and started grabbing things. Its is very nice, well thought out, easy to use and very clean. I was very impressed.

Back to the sig thing… I don't expect it to last, but WTF not, it's making me more money then the pic of me in my car's rearview mirror that I had in my sig. LOL

I don't see it lasting very much longer but I might as well make something off it till they change the rules.

Looks like they are giving GFY a cut so that they are not completely banned from there - seeing as I don;t post on GFY this has no bearing on me at all :D

But, I would not be surprised if they did ban sig file CPM's completely in the near future.

So, did anyone figure out how to use it on a Board where HTML is turned off????
