When I open FF at the top of the screen are two toolbars, Google and ICQ, how do I get rid of them?

VIEW > TOOLBARS > Check / Uncheck what ones you'd like to see or not see. Should do the trick

While on the subject of FF, when I try to view a .wmv online, Winamp opens but the vid won't play. Do I need to change some setting somewhere?

Try updating your Windows codecs.

I went to a Windows codecs site and they said codecs are automatically downloaded during Windows updates. (which I get almost daily)
