Wordpress Under Attack
 

So, yesterday someone sent me a link to this page basically warning everyone that they need to update their WP installs as hackers are actively working hard at attacking sites running older scripts.

This morning another adult webmaster reports that he updated 10 blogs to 2.84 just last week and 8 out of those 10 blogs have now been hacked.

Gotta love WP!

I did wonder when something like this would happen... so many people use Wordpress, I suppose it was inevitable.

Hey - not sure if this helps - but I just saw that you can add this so your htaccess (in your wp-admin directory) which only allows the IP addresses listed to access your wp-admin directory...
Not sure if that is common knowledge or not... I saw it on a Matt Cutts video

Yep..nor any CMS. Wordpress is likely more protected because they work on it more, but it also receives the most hacking attention.

Yeah, wordpress is a great tool, of course there will be hack attempts.

I haven't had any wordpress hacked, but Comus? Twice and done.

Today I went in and took a look at a very old blog I had set up long ago and abandoned. Turns out the posts had a bunch of someone else's random affiliate links injected into them, and one of my posts was completely wiped out. Yay me.

So I scavenged what I could of the posts & installed a clean copy of wordpress. |club|

It was just a matter of time for a massive Wordpress attack to take place.
