Just had a good idea for link Trades .. you can steal it

what if you or someone developed a sort of match making site for link trades ... like match.com does for people

you would fill out a form with some questions about your site....
and it would match you up with webmasters who have similar sites and are looking for trades

and of course you would have ads on it geared towards webmasters

if anyone wanted to develop this, feel free .. I dont have the time or interest

That's a great idea Tommy. Hope someone can build it.

I want to find trading love :)

That would be a good idea. It would also be nice to let people specify exactly what they want in plain text. Most link trades sites let you check PR, fill out a form, request a link, and that's it. That's a terrible way of doing things.

The problem with link building now (outside of e-mail, ICQ, etc.) is that it's impersonal and blind. And it's hard a fuck to find people who have a similar work style. It would be nice to be able to specify exactly who you want to hear from (I like web sites with clean designs written in plain English, no spam blogs) and who you don't want to hear from (I hate these keywords, this type of content, etc.) and have webmasters comply.

Much like "Link Machine" was for submitters, but geared towards webmasters. Thats a great idea Tommy.

You got me thinking, Tommy... it's an interesting way to look at this.

Also got me laughing though, thinking about all the fake profiles you find on dating sites and about how that might translate over to a site like you're talking about. I can see reading through all these great descriptions of excellent websites you'd just love to trade with...and then you find out it's some 800 lb trucker living in his mom's basement with his only real site on MySpace or something.

But still, the idea is interesting ... if someone would develop it right.

:)

It kind of is like what Choker does.
