PayPal Accepting Adult?
 

I heard PayPal wouldn't process transactions for adult material in the past but that they are now. Anyone know anything?

Is that pigs I see flying past my office window?

What I have heard, but have not seen anything I'd consider confirmation, is that adult material per se is not off limits, but site subscriptions are definitely not permitted.

They used to allow adult and then decided not to with no warning and freezing accounts, so for that reason alone I would never use them for anything adult.

There was plenty of warning. It wasnt like PP woke up one morning and said I dont think Im going to let people accept adult material transactions. It came from crazy chargebacks and misuse of the system. It was put into the TOS.

I havent seen PP used for any type of recurring payment on an adult site I do know that people have used PP to pay/buy services that are meant to be used on adult related websites. But thats a whole different thing.

I've used Paypal for traffic buys, but because they can be for adult/mainstream not "adult sites" so I guess it's OK by them

Apparently Paypal is being spilt off from eBay for various reasons, so maybe in the future. There is a lot of money that is being left on the table by not allowing adult.

I believe that the best answer of this question is located in their terms and conditions...
and they definitely allow subscription payments with two trial periods that automatically convert to full subscription if not canceled, so there is no problem to use the system if adult is allowed in general

BB - subscriptions and recurring was never the issue, it was when that was being used for adult only purposes.

adult traffic: yes
adult tangibles: yes
adult non-tangibles: no

I'm still leary

Just because something is being done, it could be some are getting away with something...It does not necesarilly mean it is acceptable

I personally wouldn't trust paypal for adult sites. You just never know what sort of workings the FBI would have in cohersion with them and trying to bust what they would consider to be porn webrings. Regardless of sites being perfectly legal and acting under the 2257 compliance. One must remember that this USA Government is out to create the illusion of establishing a perfect society, while continueing their ways of being corrupt and dirty as they always have been on so many levels.

Why is it that there is a limited time to edit what has been typed before! I would have liked to have corrected my error of using the word Cohersion out of proper context association. OH WELL !

Hmm, I wonder if my venture counts as adult or not as we are using paypal for transactions. Should I ask paypal or would that be sticking my hand in the water with the shark?

It's better to be 100% safe then sorry, allot of people lost allot of money with PP when they yanked funds, that's enough to make me never want to try my luck again lol.

Funny thing the entire time they were shaking their fingers at "us" saying "no no no" you COULD use paypal on Ebay to sell / buy adult items from the "adult's only" section.

In the past few months they have no removed that option, so I highly doubt their now "ok" with it lol

Honestly, please don't even try - 'better safe than sorry' is a good policy as mentioned in post above.

This is the answer, but I'm definitely with everyone who is made nervous by PayPal's last abrupt exit.
