ARS referral program - Do NOT abuse!
 

This is an official warning to all webmasters who are abusing the ARS Referral Program. The program was NOT created to pay webmasters to post.

If you are abusing our referral program, we will terminate your ability to utilize this service, period!

Please...post responsibly.

Those of you that are regular's here on the board know that Jim & I will not tolerate "posting for the sake of posting" - this policy of ours is mostly due to the few "sig spammers" that we have on the board.

Well, since the new ARS program opened, we have seen a drastic increase in these types of posts & 99.44% of them have ARS in their sig file :(

So, be warned. Any posts that Jim, myself or our moderators feel is a post for the sole purpose of getting your sig file views by the board will be reported to ARS with the post & the users account number.

Let me say that again:

If you spam our board for the sole purpose of getting your ARS sig file shown, you will be reported to ARS as a cheater!

My thought was to just change their account number to ours. Good thing Greenie has a cooler head in this instance.

Don't they pay something like $5 per 1000 impressions? Surely people could make one sale a day for $30 buy building and submitting rather than trying to get your sig shown 6000 times a day, busy thread or not.

Ramster - the button is $2.50 CPM so they'd need 12k in views - LOL

Glad to see you guys cracking down on this practice. When you have a productive board such as this one being filled with cheap sig spammers, the quality tends to drop.

Hi Everyone, I just wanted to clear this up a little.

We are no longer allowing banners in the sig tags, just buttons.
The Webmaster CPM is $1.75 on 120x60 (buttons), no larger please. This is the same as we did on the GFY board where webmasters get 70% of the CPM for buttons the other 30% will be credited to Greenguy & Jim.

CoughDrop - we don't allow images over 120x60 anyway, but it is nice to know that you guys are removing the banner CPM for board sigs :)

I think its good that you dont allow banners in the sigs......im happy with my button :) I dont make loads of cash from it but its extra, and im not gonna put my ARS account in jeopardy just to whore a few extra dollars from my sig |jester|

You would be surprised at how many would.

No I wouldn't, I have to wade through a sea of shit each day in my admins, just plain sad.

Sig whoring is the strongest its ever been. Since another message board released its 1 day "Sell your sig forum" and now ARS with its new Sig program, people who once posted 15 - 30 times per day are now posting 50 - 100 times per day. People are even registering multiple nicks and posting 50 - 100 times per day on each just for sig income.

Oddly enough, since this thread started (as well as a few timely placed replies to guilty parties) the "posting for the sake of posting" problem has calmed itself down a lot :D

Maybe they just don't want to share their "wealth" with you GG (and Jim ofcourse) :)
