That's It...I will never attempt to put any special code in the newsletter
I do a simple tip and trick on how to make tables. Send the test to both Greenguy and myself. It looks fine...
I just got my newsletter and guess what??? It is screwed up... From now on, only words :) |
it looked fine here
|
I didn't see any code...I did see tables at the end. Of course I already know tables. lol
|
Surfn
You saw what I saw |
Yes it was seriously screwed up. That's the problem with E-Mail (each system interprests stuff differently)... Perhaps you need to set up a spot where code can be posted and do a link or an RSS feed to it...
|
Keep at it Jim. You're bound to get it right. I volunteer to beta test the newsletters...since I'm not eligible to win anything :D
|
I think there's a problem with your system between your keyboard & your chair :)
Just put up an html page & link to it (that means more clicks for us anyway - LOL) |
Warning user error! Replace user and press any key. :D
Put the code within a text form field. |
Doesn't matter Cleo, I am done with it.
Greenie and I both saw the tests and they were fine. And yet, when the mail went out, it screwed it up. From now on...Tips and Tricks are going to be only words. |
Worked just fine for me!
and jim, dont give up on the special code! That was great information today for beginners and people who arent up on tables. Perhaps creating a page tutorial and linking to it in that section would be best, but either way, that's the kind of knowledge that is very very useful :) I liked it anyways |rasta
maybe im stupid, but i thought everything looked fine today
|
I got a blank where the code was suppose to be.
This means that my e-mail program parsed the mail's code correctly and displayed an empty table. The only way I know to prevent code from being parsed is to put in inside of a form's text area. Some mail programs may have been more forgiving and somehow managed to display the html code as text, but since there would be no reliable way to know if the code should have been parsed or displayed it would have been hit or miss. |
it looked fine for me, the only thing I was missing was the big red bold text telling me I was $1,900 richer |jester|

It looked good here as well.

Jimbo!
Next time enclose the HTML code you want to use in an HTML formatted e-mail with the ...tags. It turns off parsing so that anything between those tags should be interpretted as literal text. Any email client that doesn't recognize that syntax should be summarily castrated. |
Just put in screenshots :D
|
See what happens when you try to help people?!?!
Actually, it worked fine in my newsletter. |afro
