Clueless with social networking....
Ok,
I have put years into that frickin' myspace with over 80,000 friends, but, it doesn't convert for anything. Myspace disables anything that goes to adult content. I can't really advertise anything. Anyone have any back alley ideas? How do I make this work? Love, Jax |
Bump.
I know you're asking about MySpace but I can't really talk about it. I do know a little about Twitter. The TOS for Twitter only forbids adult content in graphics so adult tweets are okay. That means if you run a blog you can get an addon to automatically send a tweet whenever you do a blog entry. Typically, it will tweet the blog entry title and create a tiny URL for people to click. It is an easy and quick way to let your followers know you've got something new for them on your site. As you respond to the tweets of others, you'll be putting yourself out there for a new audience too. Hopefully, some will become your Twitter friends and make their way to your site. Just a thought about MySpace. Can you link to an R rated page which then has links to your XXX pages? |
Myspace is so ghetto... You would be better off working it with Twitter and Facebook.

i just started play with twitter Here's a pretty good tutorial http://mashable.com/2009/05/31/twitt...rials-youtube/ |
Never been a fan of MySpace, but 80.000 friends is a lot of friends. I'd be like you, more than willing to get some profit out of that audience.

I would go the twitter and facebook route. odds are if you have that many friends the majority have migrated to facebook and twitter anyway. Post a bulletin on your myspace giving out your facebook and twitter accounts and hopefully you can convert some of your friends over.
I have heard a rumor about an app that will convert myspace friends over to facebook, but until i see it i don't buy it. Thanks |
Sounds interesting, gonna connect some of my blogs with twitter and see how it goes, thx for the tip :-)

As suggested before, try to get your users on Facebook and Twitter also. You could put logos that link them all together on your MySpace to make it easier for them to find. MySpace has been on the decline huge so even with all those friends many of them may not even be active anymore.

80,000 friends? just connect it to something mainstream
