Question about submitting domains to linklists

Hello!

I don't know too much about linklists but wanna start submitting soon. I wonder what rules apply when I submit domains and not directories, so for each submission I'd use a new domain and submit the index page.

So since it's not just some sub folder, would most linklists allow more out-links?

Is this generally a good idea, pick a domain, submit it to linklists and be happy to get a google pagerank later? Can I add something to this site or change it after submitting it, since it's a domain and not a static subfolder?

The rules apply for all freesites. Domain root or subfolders. Also, I think you'd be better off using subfolders for your freesite and then list all those freesites together on your root so you create some sort of a hub. Now you can go do linktrades with other people's hubs. This way you're going to get one of those nifty PR things much faster.
Sites that only have links on the category pages of linklists stopped getting PR a few years ago. At least that's what my freesites did :)

If you are building normal everyday free sites, INDEX > MAIN > GALLERY I & II then I have to say you'd be wasting a domain name for minimal return. You are better off using a sub-directory system to maximize it's potential and search engine fodder.

ok thx for the answers, my actual idea was to set and forget and have a pagerank later but seems like it's a bit more complicated

Just a heads up one thing I'm a stickler for with public submits is that all the html pages for a submission are in the same directory (content can be anywheres on the domain)
