can anyone help me out on what i need to do to start an amateur site. It would be just myself appearing on the site, im just not sure where to go, for design or hosting.

there are many ways to go about this, first look for a good designer in your area if possible, many times your host will point you in the correct direction. If you have any questions on the hosting front please feel free to call us and we would be glad to get you going with design and hosting.

Kit - I wouldn't respond to any of these idiots. Start off asking in the newbie forum, and realize that you are asking a lot. It's not easy being an empty slate.

I agree with UW ...browse the forums and post a thread in the newbie corner. And a word to the wise, if an offer sounds too good to be true it probably is.
