I keep seeing people say "who dat" when talking about the game. What is that in reference to? I watched only the last 5 minutes of the game, which must have lasted 20 minutes.

Who dat? is a chant of team support by sports fans, used especially by fans of the New Orleans Saints.

The entire chant is: "Who dat? Who dat? Who dat say dey gunna beat them Saints?"

also thanks to greenie for the contest. if not for the this, I might have never cared enough to try and understand what football is about - well I always knew it was some sort of rugby with girly cushions, but didn't know the rules.

gotta hand it to u yanks, u know how to throw a show. the game was tits |boobies|.I only wish I didn't fall asleep at half time (already 3 am here)... gotta hit the torrents and get me those last 2 quarters!!

It was a good game to watch, not sure if it was as good as the Steelers/Cardinals game last year, with the last minute Steelers touch down, but a good game. It is reported in the press here in Australia that it was the most watched super bowl ever on tv, 100+ million.

I wonder if that started with some of the things Aggie football fans used to
say or chant in reference to legendary linebacker Dat Nguyen. We made
shirts that said "How 'bout Dat!" and stuff like that. Dat went on to play for,
and later coach for, the Dallas Cowboys.
