highest potential profits

Ok lets see what you folks think

If you had only ONE option for making $$ in this biz, which would you choose?
(and no cheating and saying you'd diversify lol)

You forgot Search Engines but I guess it goes hand in hand with many of the above. As one builds a free site for example, they optimize it for SEs as well.

I did the paysite thing when I first got into this business, wasn't for me.

I see myself as a marketer not a provider so I build stuff to market other's paysites, TGPing, Free Sites, AVS sites, etc. and drive traffic to them by all and any means that I can find. Oh yeah I have this giant hub that I call Cleo's links. :D

Good question, vicki...

Hard to answer, but good :)

For me it's between having a successful links list and a network of paysites - supported by affiliate webmasters.

I've never ran either,so I'd have to go with my instinct and answer paysite(s). A good network of paysites, supported by a strong team, and promoted by good work-of-mouth, incentivised wemasters, and efficient SE marketing...that would do me just fine |rasta|

A linklist is a great way to generate SE traffic

Well curently I make all my money with Tgps and free sites BUT if I had to pick one I guess I would go with free sites. Thats where the bulk of my money comes from. I wouldn't know the first thinkg about doing a pay site.:)

These poll answers are really interesting

I thought and thought but had a hard time choosing between LL/TGP owner and paysite owner

I'm hoping to open one of them very soon but first I need to sit on Jim, John's and a couple other successfull paysite operators knees (NO bouncing John!) and listen to their wisdoms.

Vegas anyone?? hehehe :D

I actually choose "free sites" as I don't think it'd be very easy to start a mega link site from scratch these days.

I know that by reading the rules, you can get free sites listed on just aobut every major link list, regardless of if you know them or not :)

Linkster 2003-09-08 07:59 PM

vicki...have to say that using all of the above avenues will help a paysite to be successful...if you start off just financing your own it helps to know how to do all of the other traffic methods until you can get to the point of being able to finance an affiliate program.

Of course that is assuming starting without a huge capital investment and backup capital to keep it running for a year...if youve got the cash...go for it and make the deals necessary (that John will let you in on :)

I voted LL/TGP only because thats what Im comfortable with, but of course all of the other avenues feed that....I think that just concentrating on one thing will limit your profit potential.

And like GG said....you can get free sites listed easy...even if the LL owner knows you :)

Good point. Hard to do that at a TGP nowadays. Thanks to a combination of cheaters and an overabundance of submits.

vicki 2003-09-08 11:14 PM

I agree completely

I've run my own LL for 3 years now and about 6 tgps
I tightened the noose on them all long ago
all are private submissions and a couple are 'closed' to all but a few webmasters i personally invited into the loop.

I have heaven knows how many (5 digits easy) of free sites floating around so i've been there done that .. now i'm in the contemplation phase of deciding my next level of income

I didn't make it very clear in my last post but thats why i'm considering the paysite jump

decisions decisions |angry| :D
