Where’s the 2257 Link for Your Porn, Perez Hilton?
Quote:

Perez Hilton is reported to be the most hated person on the internet—but he may also be the stupidest. Not content to spit venom at any passers-by he feels deserve the special treatment, the bad boy of gossip posted a sexually explicit porn clip to his site Monday featuring Chuy Bravo, the little person sidekick on E! Online's Chelsea Lately.

As thoughtless as posting the porn may be, considering his site is a magnet for teens, Hilton also neglected to abide by 2257 federal labeling requirements, and possibly the record-keeping requirements as well, an oversight that could in a worst-case scenario net him five years in the pokey.

What’s worse, Hilton apparently got the video from a tube site that itself contains no 2257 statement, adding another layer of injury to insult, his apparent stock in trade.

Honest Question...

Why would anyone hustling porn support the requirements of 2257 which is noble in intent but abusive in intent and subject to abuse in implementation and completely ineffective in achieving its objective?

My take on the story is that it exposes the problems with 2257 in the modern world. And to that, I say hurrah - despite his modicum of irresponsibility.

First off, my post is more about that asshat & tubes maybe getting into trouble than 2257 |whisper|

I pretty much agree with what you said about the 2257 problems, but we have to live with it until it gets struck down. And yes, civilians can get mixed up in it.

As far as intent, while 2257 is the law I see no problem using 2257 as a weapon against illegal tubes. |club|

I was going to post a bunch more, but it's late

That's almost exactly what I thought when I read that story. I really think that approach is backwards. We should focus on getting rid of 2257 not rant about how it should be applied more broadly (especially with something like this where the participants are clearly adults, or at least chuy is . . . I haven't watched the movie; does it look like anyone is underage in it? That's one of my big beefs with 2257 is that it obviously has nothing to do with focusing on protecting actual children).

That's exactly how porn world goes. Why is anybody or I should say everybody looking for that 2257 stuffs? :D
