Time for .XXX comments.......AGAIN
Found the link for posting comments for the lastest round on .XXX
http://www.icann.org/en/public-comme...options-report Not many WMs in there yet. |
The Process Going Forward:
At the end of this Public Comment period, ICANN's CEO and General Counsel will review the comments submitted and prepare a summary analysis of the various submissions, to present to the Board for consideration of the possible process options no later than ICANN's 38th International Meeting in Brussels. Closed Comment Forums |
Sorry I should have included some how-to.
Just above the Closed Comment Forums there is a link to view the current comments to get an ideal of what is being said so far. And also just above the Closed Comment Forums there is a link for "Add Comment" which is an email mailto. They mask your domain when the comments are posted. I am more than a little suprised at the number of people who have their address/phone# in their email sigs. |crazy
It's still a good idea to use a throwaway email address, as recipients on mailing lists sometimes republish entire emails with full headers.
|
Closing date for comments is coming up soon. |attention

Act now or pay later ... about $70 per domain you now own!

11:59 a.m. Pacific Daylight time (18:59 UTC) on 23 September 2010 Below is a link to the comment I sent via their email link xxx-revised-icm-agreement@icann.org (you'll get an email reply with a code for confirming your message). My comment... http://forum.icann.org/lists/xxx-rev.../msg00269.html See all comments here... http://forum.icann.org/lists/xxx-revised-icm-agreement/ This is your last chance to make your voice heard and your opinion known. Why not take a few minutes today and let them know what you think about this? 1010101110 |
you know, i still think they should just make a .KID and leave the rest of us alone and keep that for the non porn non adult crowd...give them a so called safe surfing zone..
would make it easy to block the kids computer of everything not .KID |
I think the idea of a safe-surfing domain for kids would be a good idea, someone needs to spearhead that. It has a LOT more potential registrants than .xxx does.
But in the meantime, this is the last chance to send a comment to xxx-revised-icm-agreement@icann.org to let them know that real adult webmasters are not in favor of the .xxx TLD. Act Now! :) |
It's again and again and again... always back. I'm worried it cannot be stopped because some people really want it... they want to make huge profits from it while 90% of the industry hates the idea of .XXX gtld.
|
Thanks for the reminder. I've commented. My first sentence:
"I think this could be the fourth time I have written an email stating my opposition to the idea of the .xxx tld over the last decade. I hope you take all the previous correspondence into account as many webmasters are tired of repeating ourselves." |
I wonder how the owners of Porn.com and Sex.com and other 'category-killer' domains are going to like this statement from Stuart Lawley:
“We won’t be selling or auctioning off about 10 of the ‘category killer’ super-premium names, such as Sex.xxx and Porn.xxx,” he told YNOT. “We will instead use them as traffic-generation portals for other dot-xxx sites that will get free listings and ads on those flagship sites.” So if you own one of the 'super-premium' domains I guess you can forget about owning the matching .xxx version. What a huge gaping asshole that guy is. |asshole
Porn.xxx
Well Pimproll has Porn.com, and I think Dave paid a few million for it. |banghead| I can see that ending up in WIPO real fast. |catfight| |club
Is it still up? I mean the commenting still available or already closed?

Anyone who thought they'd missed it might want to give it a go. Like...now. :) --- P.S. I clicked to read this new one (posted on the 26th) second from the top and I felt like I'd been Rick Rolled. (The link below is not a disguised redirect to a Rick Astley video, I promise.) KIND ASSISTANCE NEED -from Kent Efename http://forum.icann.org/lists/xxx-rev.../msg00724.html P.P.S. That info is supposed to be top secret too, so don't tell anyone. 110011001 |
Although ICANN's comment period is closed, it's still not too late to act. Find every article or blogpost about .xxx you can on the major domaining news sites and post comments.
example: http://domainnamewire.com/2010/09/22...-form-letters/ If Lawley thinks it's useful to post there (you know he's a very busy busy man ;) ), it's useful for us to post there as well. |
