Google has kept a promise it made last year: Site speed is now a ranking factor in Google’s algorithm, and is already in place for U.S. searchers.

Google should add a weighting in their algorithm based on the number and severity of html/xml coding errors. If coding errors crash browsers, the relevance and usefulness of page information really doesn't matter.

Actually that was a promise being discuss by Matt Cutts last year that site speed loading will be a factor in ranking website.

Since we're on the topic of site loading, I noticed Firefox has added a link to WHOIS for pages that timeout. If you have a shitty server, say goodbye to your privacy and say hello to stalkers and psychos.

The connection has timed out The server at ********** is taking too long to respond. Let's try to troubleshoot the problem: * Check Internet connection: Internet connection does NOT seem to be working! *Try to perform some diagnostic tests: # Ping Server # Trace to Server # Ping Myself # Trace to Myself # Retry This # Google Cache # Wayback # Whois General troubleshooting tips: * The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments. * If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection. * If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
