I keep getting "Macromedia application server is unreachable" or "JRun closed connection"

Server Error

Either the Macromedia application server is unreachable or it does not have a mapping to process this request.

Server Error (using Google Chrome)

tickler 2010-07-11 03:08 AM

Well I'm still get the macromedia error

THX for checking

The original "JRun closed connection" according to google is memory heap problem. I think they run clustered servers which might explain that some people, not others are seeing it. It seems it's only hitting one of the servers, but I shut down traffic until it gets resolved.

I've notified PR, so it is a wait and see, but it is the weekend. |loony|

We have this issue once and awhile. If they are using internal dns in their office, everything will look good, but to everyone else there's errors.

Are you familiar with services like http://pingdom.com? I use them on another site I am developing and their reports are helpful in identifying DNS problems and other reasons why pages might not load. I believe they allow for retrieval of an url as often as every minute which may be useful in tracking down intermittent problems.

tickler 2010-07-30 01:14 AM

I generally use this for DNS tests
