The show is in 3 weeks & a badge is required to even be in the hotel. So tell me, how many people have their flight & hotel booked, but have not yet bought a badge. This isn't the Vegas convention, where 1/2 the people you see don't have a badge (mostly because it's useless)

AVN is such a fucking joke. I'm so glad I changed my mind 4 years ago & started to support XBiz.

Do a search on the board for AVN - I'd suggest reading anything from 2005 on.

I suspect they may just be looking to get "bums in seats". Wasn't this the show that jacked up it's prices and people on the boards complained or am I thinking of another one?

Nope, this is the show Art. And, it's not even AVN giving them away, it's a separate affiliate program.

Common sense would tell you that the affiliate program could just send out a newsletter to it's members & be done with it. But NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I wonder if those that already paid for their badges & are affiliates of the program can get a refund?

Likely not, but would you buying a ticket next year knowing you might get a freebie?

I'm the wrong person to ask, seeing as there's no chance in hell I'll ever go to another AVN show in Miami (but I would take a free pass for the Vegas show, seeing as I go & haven't bought or had a badge for the last 4 years)

What idiots. The sponsor AVN hooked up with for this deal is the same one who recently changed their terms in a way that ripped thousands of recurring dollars from existing affiliates. Plus they have all those LiveJasmin ads on the illegal tubes and surfer boards... but I'm sure those are just rogue affiliates.

Yeah, Greenie... this is just another bullshit way for AWE to try to get some new affiliates to fuck over. It's worth buying them badges since they intend to get the money back from lost commissions when they fuck them later.

I could drive to this show and I'm not going. AVN has indeed been unwilling to come here and answer questions on this board for years, so it shouldn't surprise them when people here aren't being nice to them at this point. Particularly when they come here to announce this on behalf of a sponsor that everyone knows fucks their affiliates if you give them a chance.

This was my favorite show since I live near by and have very found memories from back when this show was a huge event.

Last year's show was so bad that we only showed up for a day and a half.

I'm actually curious if this show will be better than last year's show which was a total waste of my time and money.

I'm not curious enough to buy a ticket for my partner and myself though. Since the show is up the near where I live I'd go if I got my hands on a couple of tickets in hope that it somehow has been returned to its glorious days but I'm not spending money again to find out.

Cleo, I use to really like the Miami show as well. Good people there that are not at the Vegas show so it was nice to catch up with them in Miami.

But AVN has made it just too expensive to attend. Hotel is expensive (somewhat), badge price is ridicules, the hotel rapes us all on food and drink prices.

Seeing as he last visited just before 5 PM WDT & seeing as it's approaching 9 AM WDT, my guess is that Atominder will be back here within the next 90 minutes.

My point? Real companies that have a major PR problem like this would not clock out at 5 - they'd check on the problem thru the night.

For some reason, the board's search function does not return any results for "avn" so search for "Miami" and you can then read all our problems & concerns dating back to 2005.

Feel free to bring those old threads back from the dead with some answers & explanations - but I fear that's not gonna happen since no one from AVN has ever taken me up on this offer.

It's not really that the board search function hates seeing or finding any threads about AVN ... actually it won't find anything for any searches where the search term is three letters or less. There's a way to change that in the board settings I think, but almost no boards allow three-letter or less searches.

Besides searching for "Miami" you can also use Google by first specifying to search only this domain for AVN...

I know on my tube I had to change it in its settings but also since I wanted to use two word searches Sparky also had to change a setting in MySQL on my server.

Yesterday afternoon, I send Atominder a PM asking him to not ignore us & abandon the thread (like has happened with AVN Reps so many times before) so hopefully they'll come back...only time will tell.
