Problem Wih Submit Script?

I've been hand entering my free site info into GG's submit form and I'm getting errors messages saying I didn't enter anything.

What should I do?

Cleo 2004-03-17 01:24 PM

Just a guess, are you running Norton or Zone Alarm Pro?

MrMaryLou 2004-03-17 01:42 PM

Form seems to be working fine on this end and submits are going in the admin.

swedguy 2004-03-17 04:06 PM

I had a problem with it earlier today too. I got the same error but when I resubmitted, it worked.

No Norton, Zone Alarm or anything like that.

BTW. Am I the only one that can't submit to Pookies new Link Admin?
I get the same error on that one "You need to enter a name, email, url.......".

No, I don't know why turning off my antivirus or firewall programs would matter?

Because the default setting with those programs (which most people don't change) is to block all cookies. You have to be able to allow a specific site cookies.

Or allow all sites cookies if you don't want to set each site.

Hmm, I'll give that a shot and see what happens. Thanks! |shake|

Hmm, I've enabled all cookies and I'm not running a firewall program yet I still can't submit any sites to GG.

Any other suggestions? |sad|

What error are you getting?

I've been subbing to LOR almost since GG opened the doors and I have never encountered anything like that. Are you sure you don't have a firewall or virus protection running?

No, I have virus protection turned off on a clean reboot of my machine. I'm allowing all cookies as well.

That is really, really strange :( I wish I knew what the problem is, but I can't duplicate it :(

MrMaryLou is going to ask Richard if he's ever heard of a problem like this, so hopefully we'll have some new info today or Monday :)

I really appreciate your help and patience with my problem |shake|

I'm running a Linksys wireless-G home network with the firewall and virus protection off when I try to submit my sites. I've tried submitting both from my desktop and my laptop with the same browser setting. I get the exact same error listed above on each.

I'm stumped |sad|

Oh well, at least the NCAA basketball games will tide me over...

Short Irish Guy 2004-03-21 01:07 PM

Just wanted to add that I'm getting the same errors when I try to submit sites to Smut Gremlins and Explore XXX - both of which also seem to be using the same script as GreenGuy |sad|

I tried in Mozilla with all privacy settings off, no firewall, and no virus scan.

Didn't work |goodnight|

edit: Oops, meant to also add that I'm not getting an error message in Mozilla. However, the page doesn't change and the submission seems to time out. Furthermore, I haven't received a confirmation email from any of the three sites I tried to submit to in Mozilla so I know the submits didn't go through.

That leaves your wireless router as suspect.

Anyway of hooking your computer up to your ISP without going through the WiFi, like using Ethernet?

Yeah, I'll hard wire the desktop to the DSL modem and login to my ISP that way. I'll post my results later this afternoon :)

edit: Any browser settings you recommend for IE6 and Mozilla?

Cleo 2004-03-21 03:59 PM

I personally don't use Windows so I'm not much help with settings, but I believe most just leave them to their defaults and it works, just be sure that you are accepting cookies.

Lots of people here using Linksys routers, me included, but anything is possible.

You did try tuning off your broadband modem for a few minutes so as to reset it didn't you?

Yeah, I'm going to completely unplug everything...wait about 10 minutes...then reassemble the DSL modem to my desktop...

I hope this works :)

Sorry, folks. Same exact errors both in IE and Mozilla when I hardwire my DSL modem to the desktop.

Cleo 2004-03-21 05:21 PM

Well I'm out of ideas.

Carrier pigeons, two cans and some string, smoke signals, I don't know.
