My Free Site was rejected for the most foolish reason....
 

So I just hooked up with a partner to start creating and submitting Free sites again. (As most of you LL owners that have been getting my submissions know from this past week.)

I am extremely happy with the designs of the free sites, as well as the galleries. All very clean and nice looking. Obviously time was put in to make them look good. Not just the slapped together crap I see daily.

So yesterday I submitted this free site:

Very clean, great looking free site in my opinion.
Followed everyone's rules. Warning page, recips, One enter, 2 galleries, 10 pictures per gallery, blah, blah, blah....

Then I get a rejection email from a LL that says:

"Your link has been rejected for one of the following reasons:
Not with the hidden links on the root - I know it's for the SE's
but I won't link it! Sorry!"

The root, http://www.unclenasty.com , is just a HUB I dump links onto. It links to a bunch of FPA's, sites I own, Galleries I've made and a bunch of other crap. I don't link to it from anywhere from my free sites or galleries at all! Hell, I don't even link to it from any of my main sites that I own.
Yet, my free site was rejected because this LL owner didn't like some of the links on it.

WTF? I could understand if I fucked something up, or if they didn't like the content, ads, sponsors, wording or design of the free site. But rejecting it based on the un-linked root????

People can run their sites how ever they want, but damn if that's not the most ridicules reason I was ever given.

I might just print that out and hang it on my wall.

Any other LLs that I submit to do this too? I can pull your recip off and stop submitting to you as well.

what i have notice is that alot of new people starting linksites and they dont know the rules themselfs how it all works........i have to say its funny.....i would print it and frame it yes.lol

I am not a big guy to give an advice. So IMHO, normally no LL owners will reject you for that reason. I use to put a small h5 link to the rootsite, at the bottom of my index page on my free sites and got listed all major linklists. They all accepts it as long as its not a big misleading link.
But another thing I saw in the site which you posted, the image link (sorry that image is not loading for me) at the bottom which is just above "You'll find a lot more like this over at Lesbian Cheaters!" is giving me the same page again and again. Every time I click on it I get one more main/..... on the url and gives me the smae page. Something like this,

DrB - I guess the rule that most of us follow is what you do on your hub pages is your biz :) I dont care if ya pop a dozen dialer consoles - :)
Doesnt make sense since the LL wouldnt be linking to that page anyway so it really doesnt affect them
I have mixed feelings about using the links that way as I have used them on a lot of sites and both Google and now Yahoo especially really like them - as long as you stay beyond their radar for hand edits which isn't likely on little free sites. The only penalty Ive seen that came close was using same color backgrounds and text links :)

That is fucked up. I could care less what you do with the root of your domain anymore then what I care what you do with your toenails or other private parts.

Very occasionally I look beyond the free site I'm reviewing and then only if I'm suspicious about possible cp...
eg: If I get teen sites with "young" all over them (particularly from non-English webmasters) I often check the domain root to see if it's full of cp terminology and then I'll blacklist the domain...

Otherwise - what Linkster, GG and Cleo said - your sites are your biz :)

I put that on sites that I build, but I think it is silly and don't care if it is on sites submitted to me.

See, now that would be a good reason not to list it. Totally understandable.
(An oversight that will be added back in in the next and all future galleries. Thanks for pointing that out.)

I agree. I put that on all sites I build too, but won't decline a site without it. If they are already at my site, checking out the free sites...they KNOW what they are getting!

I love sites from Dr Bizzaro, I know he follows all my rules even the one about having to be naked with a butt plug inserted while submitting.

I have accepted Dr Bizarro's sites at premium i think they are nice and i am not gonna check root domains, i dont care about those, if i have to check those also , maybe i should check what they have on 404 and other??? nop the url wich is submitted that one i check and i dont care whats further on that domain.

I didn't do that when I submitted my site to Cleo, two days back. Is that the reason I got declined? LOL!

If his site rules are 3 links per page then you are not breaking the rules whether you use the 3rd link for a sponsor or your hub what does he care? Apparently he/she does. |badidea|

And everyone who builds free sites always links to a hub or FPA leading to a hub of some sort. At least they should if they're not.

You should show more respect Dr. B..... you are n o more special than anyone else... If Mondo thinks you have that site on a domain Google might ban I can TOTALLY understand his position of not wanting to link it...

I received it, but I see no need for you to explain it any further.

As I said, it's your site and you have the right to link and not link what ever sites you deem fit.

I was merely sharing the info with other LL owners to get some feedback. (Thus the reason I didn't mention your name or your site.)
