Vegas - Internext - Free Registration

For shits & giggles I went to the Internext site to see what they were charging for the convention & to my complete surprise, AVN has finally come to their senses & registration is FREE!

This offer is good until December 1st, so even if there's a slight chance that you're going to be going in January, go there now & sign up for the free badge!

Oddly enough, the free registration is brought to you by out friends at Pussy Cash |thumb

(yes, I am going this year since it's free - lol)

babymaker 2010-11-22 03:42 AM

Mayb i will make it if its worth it, how much is it really going to cost me even if reg is free? I never been to a show and want to see what i have been missing :)

Greenguy 2010-11-22 09:16 AM

I'm only going because:

1 - Free flight using airline miles
2 - Free room at Venetian
3 - Free badge/registration

I have no money to gamble with, so going to Vegas & not going to the show would be silly, but I think if I actually go there & "work" instead of "play", then it'll be worth it.

Cleo 2010-11-22 09:17 AM

Won't be going.

Ramster 2010-11-22 10:05 AM

Going to register now. :)

They posted a while ago it would be free so it's nice to see the page is actually up now! |thumb

I'm boycotting the airlines until they get rid of their Gaterape problems. We're acting like idiots in this country, being afraid to do the kind of profiling that actually works and instead just harassing every citizen who chooses to fly. So I'm choosing not to fly and it's too far away to drive. I will, however, be looking forward to the stories of what it was like for everyone who does choose to go through being irradiated and groped by people you'd never let touch you otherwise.

Wishing a good time and a productive trip to all who do go of course.

:)

I'm actually anxious for my free hand job Wed before my flight to Philly for Thanksgiving :)

I'll be in Vegas for the show...and Greenie you'll be all set when you hit a huge slot jackpot your first day there|thumb

ArtWilliams 2010-11-22 12:29 PM

Greenguy 2010-11-22 01:21 PM

Oh well, if you find it, it's funny as hell!

Basically using hot sexy girls doing the hands-on-search, then switches to a bunch of guys saying "it will probably be us". |pokefun|

RedCherry 2010-11-23 11:48 AM

MadHatter and I will be there. Fortunately, no airlines for us, just an 1.25 hr drive in. Be nice to go to some seminars, which I am planning on, and hoping they get a schedule up before hand, so I know when I need to drive in.

I can't afford to gamble either Greenie, don't feel alone there.

Hashbury, do you know if NetVerifer plans on being there? I don't see them listed. would be great to be able to connect up with them.

Just booked Sunday night at Planet Hollywood Hotel (previously the Sahara) Hotels.com is running a special $53 total a night with tax. Close enough we can walk to the convention if we want to. |thumb

Never stayed at this hotel before, but people rated it pretty well, so willing to give it a shot. I know I'll never stay at Flamingo again, that was pretty crappy rooms for the price.

I have been to 3 or 4 years ago when they were cheaper. MadHatter and I are not really into partying, but we did get to talk to a lot of people in the industry. We got two different jobs we worked for other companies by going to the shows, and met people that we have been friends with for years.

It is a good way to put a face with a name, and some of the best advice I ever got in this business was discussing F2F with people at shows. I can think of two times that I got advice that I followed that made me money. |thumb

Also just walking the booths, I found companies I have never heard of and promoted in the past.

It is like anything else, you get out of it what you put in. The show isn't real long, so once they start posting a schedule, figure out what your must go to things are. (as far as seminars, etc). If you have sponsors you do a lot with, find out if they are having a meet/greet somewhere and go.

Some of my best memories are going to dinner with the guys at Free Net Pass and getting a lot of great info. Going to a party and talking to Lensman. And sitting and picking UW's brain at a meet and greet.

Did you wash your hands afterwards?

SykkBoy 2010-11-24 12:20 PM

I'll likely be there and don't have to sweat the airline gestapo.

Our baby is due January 30th, so will be playing it by ear...and registered just in case.

Can't wait to see you guys again. It's been a very long time. I will be sure to reach out to you with my coords. |waves|

As for changes at Internext, it was overdue and they knew it. When I submitted my post-show report to them last January, I recommended sweeping changes. I'm sure my report was only confirmation of what they already knew they needed to do. A lot of direct input came from the organizers of the MP dinner (who refused to return to the Palms). It's worth noting that there is no show floor, no booth exhibits. Only seminars, panels, and speed networking.

No show floor and booth exhibits will be different. But truthfully the seminars and panels I'm looking forward to more anyways. Never have done speed networking before, should I drink lots of coffee first? |couch|

plateman 2010-11-25 09:54 PM
