So now that we have .xxx, what's your opinion...
I don't have one yet.
You? |
I think that except for the domain name sellers, and certain people wanting to grab possibly new branding territory, it's not all that important.
Compared to the reduction in value of content, and the decline in sales, it's unlikely to harm anyone. |
|
I think it's going to cost certain brands a lot of money.
|
I still unsure what I think.

I think Pimproll might have a few issues with ICM wanting to keep porn.xxx for themselves!!!
|
I think the entire XXX is a scam, total fucking scam. Look at tickler's post above about porn.xxx, case in point. We all know it's not really about keeping kids from porn and protecting against cp.
I also think (and hope) it'll die. Countries are banning it, states might ban it, universities and so on might ban it. |

How long will it be before ICM and/or IFFOR are lobbying congress to make .xxx mandatory, all in the name of "protecting the children". Of course, ICM will be making millions in the process.
Joan Irvine recently resigned as director of ASACP to become executive director of IFFOR. IFFOR is headquartered in Washington, DC. There's your obvious connection to CP and lobbying congress. $10 from each .xxx purchased goes to IFFOR. Anyone buying a .xxx is funding their own eventual extinction. |
This all about .xxx is unprecedented thievery and scam. Guys in the government should take care to get people to work instead of waste market for profit for favored groups.

Bad for folks that have old established sites. Depending on where the politicians and media go with it, it could be an opportunity. Probably just a fart in the wind, though.
