wp-admin gone after an update but everything else is fine?
I did an update a bit ago on a wp blog and now i need to do some updates and add a forum and some social stuff since its turning into a community site, but wp-admin is gone goes to a 500 error so i did some googling and tried a few things recomended but nothing worked?
The site and theme and everything is up and functional and i can FTP in, but i can update? Anyone know how to fix? http://teenpregnancyblog.com Lemme know, thanx! |loony| |
Upload a fresh copy of WP.
But don't replace wp-config.php wp-content This will preserve your blog plugins, themes, posts and settings. |

btw if anyone is looking for a wp backup program (free) I just tried this today and it works great. http://lifeinthegrid.com/labs/duplicator/ I got my copy off of the wp site but you can download it at the above link and have any tech info you might need too. |
It works In my 3.+ multisite install.

EDIT: The update worked but I had to reset my passwords. That's not gonna work in the future when I have a few hundred users on this site. Looks like I'll have to do some more homework if I want to keep this site up to date. |
Odd I've never had to reset my password. Maybe it was just a glitch or something.

Following their upgrade instructions to the T is a must!
I've upgraded single site, and multi site versions with no problems. I do all of mine manually too. When you do a multi-site, make sure you go into network admin, and update all the sites on your network...one button click does it all. |
