It's quite minimalist.

I think they've done it partly to bring more attention to Froogle.

Totally agree djhits and its very apparent already... click thrus and sales are up considerably here, so I have to say I am pleased with the new layout :)

yep CTR is very high today im sure google is loving this, i had to up my daily limits
