09Jul2011 - Up and at 'em
Did my last real post on twitter yesterday after writing a quick gateway from google+ to twitter (I wish they would get that API written). I'm really liking google+.
Tons on tap today - have to do a presentation later this afternoon and am going to try to find one of these while I'm in Fort Lauderdale: http://www.sun-sentinel.com/business...0,206995.story Hope everyone has a good day. |
Cool soda machine, not that I'm a soda drinker.
I'm just glad I wasn't stuck in traffic hell yesterday after some nut job parked a hearse under a bridge on one of Miami's major freeways shutting it down for five and a half hours. Christy and I both seem to have caught annoying colds, oh joy. Just another thrilling day of work and errands planned for this raining day. |
Good afternoon,
Today is the first day of 3 weeks off from the demolition job. So online stuff is on the menu for the next 21 days. Later tioday it's the half-anual dinner with my gf friends and after that we'll probably go to the bar where we met 3 years ago. The little one is staying with one of the grandparents tonight :) Oh yeah, I'm also trying to get the hang of this google+ stuff. Have a good Saturday all! |
For those of you looking for a shorter url for your google+ profile, you can use the http://gplus.to, or, if you have your own domain where you can create an .htaccess rule to handle a redirect:
RewriteEngine on RewriteRule ^g\+$ https://plus.google.com/123457890 [R=301,L] Replace the url in the rule with your profile url, upload the file as .htaccess or, add the lines to an existing .htaccess file. Then, when you go to http://yoursite.com/g+ you'll be redirected to your google profile account. Now, you're in control of your own url and don't need to worry when gplus.to is slow or down. Nor do you need to worry about whether those services will eventually shut down for lack of revenue, or, start putting interstitial ads in. You can also use any of the link shortener services to do the same. Try it out: http://cd34.com/g+ |
I want to be on google+ seems all the cool people are. |virgohippy| my gmail addy is gotpornforwomen if anyone has invites they can swing me.
Just got the morning chores done. cats fed, litter boxes cleaned, swamp cooler on. Looks like today is the last day of high humidity then they will be back to their efficient cooling selves. |bananna| Our next remodeling job we went to do is replace our carpet with traffic master premium Morroco Slate. This stuff looks like real stone, and the colors look better than the pics, and it is pretty cheap. Reviews are good, I just wonder about rolling chairs over it (since we want to do our offices). Anyone used something like this for an office floor? We are both tired of cleaning cat vomit off carpet, and neither one of us feels confident enough to install our own ceramic tile, and this would be a bit cushier than tile. We have a lino in our kitchen that looks like stone, and we have had people go down and touch the floor to see if it is real stone, and that is what this looks like. |

I had vinal flooring. Looks great for a couple of years and then no so great. But it is easy to put down and replace as needed. We have porcelain tile through the whole house now. It was pretty expensive but 6 years later looks just like it did when it was first laid. |

Personally would I'd love is that tile that is smaller (like 4" squares) that looks old, like it is chipped around the edges. Not sure what that is called. With squares that small, we wouldn't have to do many cuts. But that is for when I'm making the big bucks, and that sure isn't right now. :(

I laid ceramic tile once a long time ago. It's actually not that hard to do as long as you rent a tile cutter, the electric wet saw kind, and follow instructions from a book or YouTube.
Vinyl tile in the office doesn't last at all as the chairs rolling over it really messes it up. |
Good morning.
Been up a while working. It would be nice if Canada Post would start delivering some checks again. I was gone all week in Boston and expected to come home to a bunch of checks (3-4 weeks of ccbill alone) and there was 1 check in the mail for $57, LOL. And it's been 2 weeks now really since the postal strike ended. :( |
