OWNED.COM the domain was purchased a few months ago to be used for a project that didnt come off.. its been offline since purchase so there is no stats or sale figures to show you... I have no idea how many type-ins it might get... one the domain players would likely be able to make a pretty accurate guess for a buyer though. People kept suggesting it could be sold for around 10k... Sooooo let's see if the people with the money to spend agree ;-) I posted a thread on GFY with a Poll for people to suggest what they think is a "Sensible Selling Reserve Price" for it... thought it might be interesting to compare results to here. (if that nasty domain is allowed in a link code) |
Ya, you could do something with it for sure. Making money off it would be the challenge not being a porn related name.

and - and get something to them via eMail AND postal mail... 2. find out the contact addresses for the Jimmy Kimmel late night talk show and for JIMMY himself - and get something to them via eMail AND postal mail... 3. find out the contact addresses for the Howard Stern TV and radio talk show and for HOWARD himself - and get something to them via eMail AND postal mail... (I think he's just joined an Internet hosting company - find out - and get the info to them as well - might make a nice gift for them to purchase for Howard....) 4. find out the contact addresses for the Jay Leno late night TV talk show and for Jay himself - and get something to them via eMail AND postal mail... 5. find out the contact addresses for the David Letterman late night TV talk show and for David himself - and get something to them via eMail AND postal mail... 6. find out the contact addresses for the Conan O'Brien late night TV talk show and for Conan himself - and get something to them via eMail AND postal mail... 7. find out the contact addresses for the Last Call late night TV talk show with Caron Daly and for Carson himself - and get something to them via eMail AND postal mail... there's probably a ton of music people you could add to your list... a suitable name that especially comes to mind is Jack Black... you should not sell under $10k there's no reason to rush... shop it around... try Ashton... try the people that own "The Onion" and CJ... and the "Smoking Gun"... there's probably some comedians that it would suit... Roseanne Barr... Kathy Griffin... try some college frat houses... try Jim Belushi.... try Carrot Top.. find paroday message boards AFTER you get your cover page up on the site with your CONTACT info - and shop the domain name there... by asking for suggestions on marketing it and to whom - for more ideas... that's a good start for you... get busy... and my suggestion is to make a page with allot of these names so you can get some traffic and create a competition mentality for them - so they can WIN over all the others... plus you might be able to get some free media coverage (mileage) out of having something SHOWABLE... and do press releases and free interviews... be aggressive in YOU contacting media to volunteer an interview... contact them at the get-go with the press elease - - - they might not have time to interview you but with something IN-HAND they might do a write up on you during a slow news day... most media though - do not save press releases or story ideas more than 14 days... so don't take that as a "no" and don't mark them off your list ... hit them again very 2 weeks for 8 weeks + and do NOT NOT NOT rely solely on eMail communication in getting the word out... the postal mail is still a good TOOL... with a refined targeted contact list... good luck... keep us up to date on what you do... ~Bell |
