A travel show with a difference. In the true spirit of satirical journalism, Louis investigates subcultures of American life through participation, and succeeds in gaining access to the inner circles of organisations on the very fringes of society. Theroux undertakes an explicit exploration of the American hard core porn industry. He listens to advice from sex-film veterans before landing himself a part in a gay film, playing the all-important - but fully clothed- role of a park ranger.
