Friday, Jun XXIX MMXXII

It is Friday, almost July - this year has been sailing by.

Hope everyone has a good Friday and a great weekend.

Roman numerals confuse me.

Just finished changing the light bulb that is in our office fan. I think Rube Goldberg must be the designer of Home Depot fans. It took two of us, a cordless drill, two chairs to stand on and the removal of four screws to get to its light bulb. Putting it back together was even more fun trying to get all four screws to line up while being under the fan not being able to see where the screw holes are while trying to hold together two flanges and the light diffuser. Out of the five fans in this house two are from Home Depot and there will never be anymore from Home Depot.

I see my hard drive for my old iPod that is coming from China is finally in the States. Hopefully it will arrive in the next few days as it really sucks not having it in my car's music system. Car has a CD player that has never been used since I don't own any CDs and I'm just not a radio person. Been plugging my iPhone into the dock connector but it doesn't charge my phone so I have a choice of music or a charged phone.

Just a day of work planned. Tonight's kayaking has been cancelled due to general group exhaustion.

Good Friday My Friends |buddy|

It's Party Weekend here - we're having our annual Independence Day party combined with 2 high school graduations. Lots of friends are coming in from out of town (Useless, Emerlad & BlueBrit, MaryLou, Ramster & family, etc) I really do love our parties :)

Needless to say, I'll probably be scarce for the next 2 days, so have a nice weekend |thumb

The only fan I'll ever buy again.

We have one of these, my mom has two - they are fantastic, they use two different CF bulbs, easy to change, remote with a thermostat, so, you can set the remote to 77 and it'll control the fan speed. The fan was designed by the Florida Solar Energy center: Gossamer Wind and they are extremely quiet even at high speed and they move a ton of air. They were designed by the guy that made the propellers for the Gossamer Penguin (human powered plane). If I had the time, I would replace the rest of our ceiling fans with them.

Regrettably, only sold at Home Depot.

We have three of these fans and love them. Real easy to hang, real easy to change the light bulb. Remote dims the light. Moves a lot of air.

Morning all,

We have a bulb that needs changing in our ceiling fan, want to come over and do it? Haven't gotten around to it because we have about a 20' ceiling in that part of our kitchen, and we'd have to almost bring in scaffolding to get to it as our regular ladder is not tall enough, and the wall is too far away to lean the long ladder against and reach it. |loony|

Just built my first free site, and working on some 3D.

Worked out yesterday for the first time since I screwed up my ankle, and I really feel it, but it feels good to be able to work out. Foot is still sore, but I'm guessing it is going to take weeks more to be completely healed up. At least it doesn't feel like someone is slicing open my arch anymore, just pain more up in my ankle which I think is arthritis from babying the joint more than anything.

Porn on tap planned for today, and if I can stay awake long enough, work in the yard again at dusk. Getting up at 5am, I find myself laying down about the time the sun goes down.

Have a great one all |virgohippy|

@Greenie have a great party!

The light allows you to put just the bottom one on, the top one on, or both and provides three fairly decent brightness levels.

I like that fan, though, none of our fans can go flush mounted since every ceiling is vaulted. Still prefer the Gossamer though. :)

You have nice nigh vaulted ceilings, the kind I was we had. As you know our house has really low ceilings, like living in a cave. It's really hard to find decent hugger fans.

At some point going to replace the light bulbs in our fans with LED bulbs as they can be dimmed. Price per bulb is still too high though. Want to also replace the overhead floods in the kitchen with LEDs but not at almost $50 per bulb.
