How long do you wait before re-using content on sites / galleries?

But on my sites with exclusive stuff, I'd do like to go back and re-use some. I've been trying to wait at least 6 months, figure most of it is down the page on a link list/ tgp by then. Does it sound about right to you?

I'm actually losing all my gals and links lately cause they are all infected. I'm moving towards social networking where legit active stuff makes stuff happen (and you can't be banned cause it's happening from your focal point).
