As I mentioned before if anyone wants to meet up Friday for Lunch or late breakfast or drinks or whatever, let us know, we are less then 3 hours away and can pretty much set our own time.

A few of us ill be in the City on Friday night as well. Perhaps we can put something together for Friday night as well.

Hopefully a few of us will be at the Cubs/Cards game as well :D

You wasn’t kidding on hotels, took far longer then I thought it would to find one not $300 a night.

Got a 3 star near Niles. Not too bad (I hope)

Wanted to mention we are up to most ideas on Friday, I'm not a Cubs fan, so I would have to root against them if everyone decided to go to a game, but be warned, last time I was at Wrigley it was a 14 inning 1-0 final with Pitt winning.

I am however a Big Ten man and would love to go to Northwestern and walk around looking at the campus….. ok, I’m boring as well….. Any other site see’ers? We have a Jeep Cherokee Sport that can fit 5 (6 if 2 are real small)

I'm pulling some strings and making things happen...

Like I said, this is the biggest series of the year and are the first to sell out.

If not, we might end up spending the day going to Northwestern and walk around looking at the campus.

Northwestern has a nice campus but you can't see much from the street.

I assume like most cities the airport is actually way too far for accomadations. The Omni itself is sold out. So basically anything downtown would be fine but outside of downtown would be no good?

There are a few still available with reasonable prices. If you go through Expedia, do a search for Chicago. Then where it says "Show hotels > Chicago ( and vicinity )" (above the results) choose "Loop".

We're staying at the Hotel Allegro. $178 for Friday, $199 for saturday.

Other some what reasonable rates are:
Club Quarters - $180/night

Hyatt on Printers Row
$199/night

Hilton Chicago
$199/Friday $259/Saturday

Congress Plaza Hotel
$140/night


All of those are about 10-12 minute cab ride from the Omni. (Traffic permitting.)


Anything closer to the Gold Coast (North) and the rates go up to the low $300's or higher.

WTF no roach infested motel 6 prices? Oh well, we will be looking into this after tax season then making our arrangements, luckily its just a drive for us or we can catch a plane ride for $99 from Detroit. :-)
