anyone use payoneer to sell stuff ?

Please be patient with me I'm very much not qualified to be operating a computer nevermind being a webmaster.

I produce my own content and unfortunately my distributor appears to be retiring. (He's in europe anyway) So I'm moving away from a brick and morter store distribution to an Internet based one. Unfortunately having gone through a thousand problems with people claiming to be serious web developers.. I'm now learning to do it myself.

What I want to do is set up a point of purchase site to sell directly my DVDs. I'm looking at some of the "options" on the internet. Between those that look like scams to that just don't appear to want to explain things in a non-Albert Eienstien way... I'm confused but I think I found a decent one.

Has anyone used payoneer? Can they be trusted? Has anyone tried to sell actual "stuff" instead of just virtual services with them? And anything else that I need to know would be greatly appreciated.

Using a company like Payoneer is not an option. So very few people have an account that you won't get many sales. And don't expect people to sign up simply to buy from you, they won't - it will be a lot easier to buy from your competition.

The only intermediate payment company that is any use is PayPal, but I don't think they allow adult DVD sales (but it might be worth checking, as they have started allowing adult books, including the more extreme S&M ones, and to be honest, if I ran a payment processor I'd be happier selling vanilla porn DVDs to selling some of the books I distribute using PayPal).

I would guess that your only real option is to get your own merchant account and accept credit cards directly.

Thanks for responding to me.... It's greatly appreciated.

I'm forced to admit that this is becoming a lot of legal redtape, stupid rules and stupid people.

Paypal will process adult DVD sales. *BUT* only if I have a United States address. I'm not american and I have no plans to move there so this is a no go for me.

I've spoken to my bank but the questions and general *asshole-ness* of them is getting to be a bit much. I sell a legal product but it looks like bible thumpers have infiltrated the banks.

Doesn't CCBill have a merchandise type resale program?

I'm looking at it now. Is there a way to by-pass all this primary and secondary ID bullshit? It creeps me out.

Hi,

Payoneer does not currently provide payment processing services.

We provide global payment solutions. If you're a company or small business and looking to send payments to payees, suppliers, distributors, etc, Payoneer can greatly simplify your payment process (and greatly reduce your costs), no matter where they are in the world.

We work with companies of all sizes (from 1-2 payees to thousands).

You might also want to look into Zombaio.com as a processor too, I use them on paysites, but I have not used them for what you are looking for, so not sure if they are a viable option or not.

And yes, they are going to ask for ID to verify you.

If all else fails, you might want to look at selling your stuff via a 3rd party like AEBN.com that would pay your a portion of your sales. (I don't know the amounts). They can also do a pay-per-view and by scene/clip.

Another site is http://clips4sale.com/ that also is a 3rd party that sells clips for you, in a 75/25 split for DVDs. Here is the info. http://clips4sale.com/do/storeinfo

Thanks I appreciate the help. (seriously)

But it's 2012 and some pretty fucked up stuff is going on and even the "tried and long time trusted" organizations are turning out to be assholes. I'm a very cautious person and it really sits hard with me the idea of giving my ID to a foriegn and un-known entity. So I've made an appointment to talk with another bank here. There has to be someone here that I can meet with face-to-face and get this working.

Get your passport and make a drive from Canada to Tempe, AZ so that you can meet face to face with someone from CCBill.

A US address is easy to get. Ask other board members (ones who live in the US, I don't) for details on companies over there offering business addresses.

If you are not in the US, you may find it easier to get an account through a non-US company rather than CCBill, because CCBill have to jump through all sorts of US hoops. Most European countries are laxer, and most don't require an up-front payment for the credit card processors (which I'm told is high in the US). This laxness probably explains why our banks are in the shittier at the moment (and why Obama wants us to extradite some of our bankers to the US for punishing), but it does make things a lot easier, cheaper and less red-tape-ish.

I appreciate the comments and the help. (I truly do) To this extent I'm sorry if I've wasted anyone's time. Normally I wouldn't think twice about going with an United States based company. But we live in some really fucked up times and although I find americans tend to be fun loving and cool; Sadly I'm very old school and I'm looking at my options and putting them into context. I'm thinking I would do best to just play (doing business) in my own backyard.

CCBill is by far the best I've seen so far but it's just being opportunistic on everything they offer. They'll wave the 750$ set up fee because I'm going to sell actual merchandise and NOT anything "virtual" like subscriptions. But it's still disgustingly expensive on transactions. I can knock off 5% per transaction if I can find a local bank.

Well it won't hurt for me to take a look.
Thanks for the heads up.
