It is just a waste of time for you, but for those of us living and travelling in the Olympic "ground zero" it is a fucking nightmare! Half the footpaths and some of the roads I use are closed, and the public transport is packed. The footpaths/towpaths/roads were closed two weeks before the games started, will be closed during both the main Olympics and the Para Olympics, and also during the gap between them. In other words, two whole months of not being able to get anywhere. So think yourself lucky that for you they are only a "waste of time", for some of us it is a "waste of two months of our life".

Fucking Olympics.

Personally, I LOVE watching The Olympics. Some of these events, like Water Polo, Hand Ball, Diving, Athletics (fka Track & Field), Trampoline and so on, are all sports that we pretty much only get to see once a year unless you really hunt for them on your TV or the intertubes.

I watched then entire Men's Shotput the other day & I was actually captivated by it!

Funnily enough, my favorites are the women's volleyball & women's beach volleyball |bananna||bananna||bananna|

Beautiful pair of photos in the local newspaper the other day. It showed the Mayor Of London watching the volleyball. One photo, taken during the men's event showed him fast asleep, the other taken during the women's event showed him goggle eyed and quite pervy looking. Summed the guy up perfectly!
