PR/Backlinks Updating
 

Don't know if anyone cares - but they are updating them today :)

Yeah I just noticed a couple of my sites go from PR1 to PR4 and one from PR3 to PR5. Still getting mixed results but should shake out in a couple days I guess.

I am quite happy with the results.

My index page is up from PR 4 to PR 5 but i still cant find my site listed in google for any keywords that get traffic I must not know what im doing lol

a little off topic lol, how do fix my google toolbar i minimized both google and yahoo toolbars for a few hours the other day to check advertising banners on my sex chat, yahoo came back fine, but google is small and crunched to side and wont show pr??? i am going thru withdrawal lol tried all the options dont see anything to fix it??? i can still get backlinks by going to side and get a scroll down but pr wont show??? should i delete it and re-instal??

just what i been waiting for all my cat pages are now a pr4 i am happy with the results now if i can get a good listing.. LOL

That was quick. I wonder if Google's working harder now with yahoo and msn breathing down it's neck?

Too early to tell but more frequent pr updates would be a nice benefit of competition.

yeah I had a new site make a jump up to a pr 4, rather unexpected...

I am thinking google changed something because this site has barely any links to it and very little traffic. But it has a nice structure and lots of good info.

I really hope they finally start giving more credit to sites with substance and not just counting backlinks.

After all, google was about finding good info, but that seems to have slowly taken a dump the last year+ with people cheating with expired domains and focusing mostly on backlinks.

I gave up on google a long time ago, but it looks like they maybe made a change for the good, finally! I am hoping it stays this way.

Noticed that also :-) my main index is back to 4 (from 3) and the main page is now also 4 (was 3) + all my free sites are aroung pr3-4.

It seems to me that the period of bouncing pr that happens after an update has been unusually long this time, I'm seeing pr jump yesterday and today for instance.

Anybody else seeing this, and thinking it seems unusual?

Seeing the same thing here Bill... Backward links and PR are still jumping all over the place

I keep seeing them revert to the old PR and backlinks - the datacenters are getting moved around, something else I noticed is that occasionally they will lose the fresh tags at the same time - hmmmm seems they are getting their datacenters ready for a huge load to be moved through - SERPs update must be on its way |jester|

You should be able to maximize the googlebar again so it shows the PR.

There's a new set of backlinks on 64.233.161.98 - nice too - pages just added in the last two weeks already counting as internal backlinks :)

What can I expect from my site going from pr4 to a pr5?
I would assume better SE placement.

I read on other boards, some sites go from a pr5 to a pr4 and now get better placement

In my opinion its hard to determine what value Page Rank has in search terms.

Our egos all feel better for having a stronger PR... but does it actually help our SE results?

I suppose my big example today is I had a site go from PR5 to PR6 and then back again... did it make any difference to my traffic? nope.

OK...same site went from no.30 for a popular keyword... to no.9 for a popular keyword... did it make any difference... bloody oath it did!

I think Page rank must play a part in the results... although I am not sure where... I know it helps with all our egos. (some egos thrive on it LMAO) But what really counts is the hits you get from the Search Engines... and how well your targetted key phrases/words are doing.

Dont go stressing on PR... get good content on your sites so the engines have something to spider...
