Here's a friendly heads-up ... you really do NOT want to use Gmail to discuss things like this. They scan all messages coming through their servers and the Big G will eventually devalue and penalize your site for violating their webmaster guidelines regarding manipulation of search results by selling links. You never want to send anything through their email servers that provides evidence against yourself.

But you may want to read the results from a search like Gmail scans emails and notice some references even mention how "...email that non-subscribers choose to send to Gmail accounts is scanned by Gmail as well, even though those senders never agreed to Gmail's terms of service or privacy policy." Then look at Google's webmaster guidelines regarding what they call link schemes and how buying and selling links that pass Page Rank can negatively impact a site's ranking. Then you can decide for yourself whether you think it's absolutely safe and nothing at all to worry about since they're certainly only using the information they gather to help them target advertising and offer suggestions based on knowing which social networks you belong to. I mean, with their ability to create algorithms like the hard-hitting Panda and Penguin updates, there's no reason to think they'd have anything running on their servers that allow them to notice when someone offers to buy or sell links in an email. Right? :) |
Gmail has no Right to check what is contained in the Mail.It is a big violation of privacy,,I think...

It's only a violation of privacy if they agree not to do it and then do it anyway. That's not the case, and if you read some of the results on that first link I posted above you'll see that they're actively defending their right to read your mail. Bottom line is that it's a free service and you're free not to use it, so they can do whatever they want as long as they don't first promise you that they won't do it. In any event, you're free to use them to discuss link selling if you want. Just be aware that there are many smart link buyers who will never respond to someone who offers to do business using a Gmail address. They know that probably too much incriminating information has already been shared with the Big G. But you should do what you think is best. And good luck with that. :) |
No free service, mail or otherwise, is private. This is why it's free. Selling your information is how it is paid for.
Did I mention that I don't use any free email service? |

Actually we are finding that No "paid" service, mail or otherwise, is private either.
