Good Morning :)

Had another funeral to attend to a couple days ago with someone I use to work with. It seems like the only time you see old friends and family is at funerals. I've talked to people I haven't seen in 20 years because life just gets in the way. Makes you understand the older you get the less time you have and truly explains why old people start to fear everything.

Time to catch up on some work so have a good one!

Death sucks :(

Just got back from getting my yearly physical. Thanks to Obama Care it was free. Found out that I have a urinary track infection that I didn't even know about. Looking forward to getting my blood results in a day or two and seeing if they have improved now that I've lost all this weight.

Just my usual day of work and errands planned for today.

Jesus, you know your life is boring when the most interesting thing that happened to you all day was that you got some cheap meat for lunch. To make matters worse, that is the second day in a week that "cheap meat" is all I have to talk about. If I were a vegetarian I'd have absolutely nothing to say, and my post would just be "wibble, bibble bibble" I haven't even got a movie from LoveFilm to watch tonight!

Although, to be fair, it was a new kind of meat I had not tried before. It was an Italian meat, and I'd got it from the Polish grocer. (I'm guessing that the reason it was cheap is that they could not sell it on account of the fact that people who go into Polish grocers want Polish meat, not Italian meat - it is probably very expensive in the Italian deli down the road.)

They called it "Mortadella" and apparently it is a combination of beef, pork, and milk. It was heavily spiced, but the spices tasted more "Japanese" than "Italian" (or perhaps the "spicy taste" was due to it having gone off - and that was why it was cheap).

Wow, look at that, I just wrote three whole paragraphs on pointless rubbish. With a skill like that I could get a job writing copy for the National Enquirer!

That is OK if they are not the guest of honour. I had an uncle I had not seen for years, and when I finally got round to visiting him it was at his own funeral. The saddest thing is that soon after he died my father moved to the same part of the country where he used to live, only five minutes walk from his old house. If he was still alive I'd now see him quite often when visiting my father.

Life is a bastard, but death is worse.

Vegetarian food can be very fattening. I was a vegetarian for a while in the 1980s, and I put on a hell of a lot of weight then. Even now I eat some vegetarian meals (sometimes for a change, sometimes because I feel I have been eating too much fat or red meat - or both) and I have to be careful of my weight when I do this. Kind of counter intuitive, but sometimes I am eating vegetarian to reduce my fat intake, and put on weight because I am eating lower fat meals!
