Silly Canadians! Having their big National holiday in the middle of the week! |couch|

Speaking of big national Holidays, Facebook has been reminding me that I'm too broke to throw our Independence Day party, which was a yearly event from 1997 to 2012 :(

The Bitch is up early today for no reason, so I'm gonna go sit on the couch with her until she has to leave for work |thumb

I feel like crap. Not sure if I've caught a cold or if it is allergies. Whatever it is I just hope it's gone by my big kayaking day this Sunday.

One of my popup headlights on my Vette has a stripped gear. The good news is I can buy a rebuild kit for $50. But after reading posts of the Vette forums it seems I can just take the gear out and flip it around as it only uses half its gear so flipping it around should give me years of more use and not cost me anything except a few hours of my time. So in a little bit going to follow the directions on this page and get dirty. If flipping it around then I'll order a rebuild kit. In any event that is way cheaper then buying a new motor that costs almost $200 or paying the shop to do it that wants $550 to do it.

SO today is looking to be a car repair and laundry day instead of a work day.

Who's hungry?

Good Morning :)

More work on the house to do which is taking up nearly all my time lately. Have someone showing up to pick up a treadmill and then after that a run to the hardware store. When you ignore a house for like a decade the to do list gets extremely long. Plus it's like working on a website, you think you can do this, this and this in a day but turns out it actually takes a week to accomplish. So for the past week I have been sore, tired and pissed off and still have not come close to seeing the faintest hint of light at the end of the tunnel.

Should try the British method. If a public holiday is not on a Friday or Monday, we tend to regard all the days between the holiday and the nearest weekend as holidays too!

The best one is Christmas. 25th and 26th of December are public holidays, so is the first of January. So most people take the 27th to 31st of December off too, because, fuck it, it is hardly worth going back to work for just one week!
