I am oddly awake & chipper today, which is kinda strange since I have no holiday celebration plans what-so-ever! The Bitch is working today & tomorrow (Holiday Pay |thumb) My mom said she's gonna cook hot dogs & make a macaroni salad for us to enjoy tomorrow for dinner, which does seem kinda pathetic |pokefun||greenguy|

I do have to run to the bank today after the mail gets here & hopefully brings me a check I've been waiting on |pray| Thankfully the bank is open today.

I seem to have caught a cold. Thought maybe it was allergies but now I'm pretty sure I'm sick. Hopefully I'll feel a lot better by Sunday as I'm the group leader of a huge group that is paddling out the sandbar at the Haulover Inlet at Oleta State park.

Woke up to finding my trade script hosed. Not sure what happened to it. I do two different versions of nightly backups to a local drive at my house and uploading a version from a few days ago seems to have fixed it.

Yesterday I took apart my Vette's headlight motor and tried to fix it, but its drive gear was too damaged so I ordered a rebuild kit that should be here next week, hopefully before it completely dies and the headlight stops going up and down. The kit is $46 with shipping which is a lot cheaper than a new motor, $200, or having the shop do it for $580. Now that I've taken it apart and put it back together I should be able to do the repair in about 30 minutes, but yesterday I spent about 3 hours messing with it.

Doing a Foxy's updates today and then will probably just go back to bed and get lots of rest so that I can get over this cold.

I am working as usual and guess I should clean the house somewhat since the wife and daughter will be home tonight from their week in Atlantic City, though it isn't too messy. Usual day as I said, coffee has been consumed and I might leave the house and go for lunch somewhere since it is a nice day out there.

No big plans for the holiday but we never really do. Use to go to the movies, pick one that ends about the time fireworks go off and the theater is usually empty. But last year we skipped because there was a crapload of idiots shooting off fireworks before the 4th and we are in a drought. This year it is even worse (fireworks and drought), thou it seem to be more of the very loud explosive kind versus shit shot in the air, so we are staying home to keep the cats calm and be at the ready in case of fire. F'ing people.

We did purchase a portable ac unit yesterday for testing purposes since it would be cheaper to buy a few of these and move them around as needed versus a ductless mitsubishi system or central air. We finally have a bid coming next week for those.

I feel like this old home is killing me emotionally, physically and financially. I will probably never purchase another house again. Maybe a condo in a retirement community but that's about it.

Well, enough of my bitchin and time to get back to work for I here my right brain cell yelling at the left one, Toughen Up Cupcake!

I just bought some sausages for lunch tomorrow. Usually I prefer British style hot dogs, but considering the date I went for American style dogs instead.

My doctor has spent the best part of a year trying to convince me that I should move into "a sheltered home for the elderly".
