Up really early as I had trouble sleeping. One of Yell's very good friends (and a friend of mine & The Bitch) was diagnosed with stomach cancer a couple months ago & it's not good :( He's running out of money for basic living expenses & there's something screwy about his health insurance. Anyway, we're gonna do a benefit for him in the near future & I volunteered to do the website. I'm not sure how many sites I've done for benefits like this, but 1 was too many for me :( So I was awake thinking of domain names & wondering where files from the past ones I've built are...

Had some fun yesterday as we went to my niece's new place for her lil guy's 4th birthday party. But in the middle of it, The Bitch got a text from her boss asking if she wanted to come in & help as they were swamped, so home we headed so she could grab 5 hours of OT |thumb

British Open comes back on in 45 min, so I'll probably veg out & watch that until I go to the chiropractor.

Happy Monday. Usual day of work for me and no plans to leave the house. :)

Also going to watch the British Open shortly, most of the last groups start to tee off shortly and with so many within a couple of shots of the lead it is literally any one of 30 guys to win. I'm hoping for Spieth |thumb

Fell asleep watching Halt and Catch Fire late last night so finished watching it before making it out of bed way too early this morning.

Just a day of work planned. Would love to do some biking but it has been thermonuclear hot here the last week or so. Yesterday I couldn't touch the steering wheel in my car for about ten minutes after it sat in the sun for a few hours. Might go to the air conditioned gym after I get most of my work done and ride a bike there along wit my usual workout.

We are still dealing with rain off and on which has brought about southern/eastern style humidity which sucks. So I am not going outside and working on the house till this all passes which should be Thursday. I can do catch up on biz stuff so no biggie.

Got a crapload of emails to go thru and other work so I better get to it.

Today a bisexual friend told me I was "strange for a straight guy" because I like women in military uniform (but later admitted that all straight guys are strange to him). My friend who owns the puppy had a face like someone who had just gone ten rounds with Mike Tyson. Apparently earlier today the puppy had tried to chase a cat and my friend refused to let go of the lead. The puppy is strong (remember - they hunt lions in Africa) so my friend lost the tug of war, and ended up bouncing on his face on the sidewalk.

The puppy did not look in the slightest bit contrite.

So what is normal and accepted practice on recips. Pull his and leave other 2? Replace his with another?

It is a few years since I did free sites or galleries, but back them my policy would have been to not use dead links on new sites/galleries (obviously). But I had so many old sites/galleries that changing old links would have been at least a day's work, probably several days. And since galleries and sites move down the link lists fairly quickly (if you submit to good sites) then they would soon be too low to count. So forget about them it is not worth it.

As a P.S. I would also have waited longer before doing anything. What if there is a problem at the other end and Tommy is on holiday/sick/in hospital? I do think it is too early to kill links. The guy has been sending you traffic for years, give him a few weeks grace before hanging the guy!

I'm with you. Just trying to get a sense of what to do. Happening more and more. We probably have 1,000 galleries + that went are going to his tgp.

If he does not want to run the site I will take it over. The TGP and the forum anyway. What the hell? 5 years of work and dedication just shwing?

I did a quick search and replace. If I'm wrong about Tommy's being down for good I can do a quick search and replace to undo this. But I'm pretty sure that he has left the business. Too bad he didn't give the domain to someone, like me, as I've lost a nice chunk of traffic due to this.

I wish someone would get the word to him to pass it on to you. What the hell? I dont get just walking away.

Perhaps he was abducted by aliens!
