Sunday 4th October, and Ecchi realises that Skynet has been launched, and that Judgement Day is here!
It is true, the computers have taken over!
I was just making adjustments to the Perl script behind my pop under and found it would not let me look work on the data it created. Spent ages looking for the fault in the script. Eventually found a little bit about computers that I did not know (via Google). If They create a data file, They will declare it writable to user only. And They will declare Themselves the user. In other words, the programmer (who created the Program) is locked out. Only The Program is allowed to edit the data file. I'm sorry for laughing at Prof. Hawkins, he was right. Computers are taking over the world and are shutting us out. Arrrgggggghhhhhhhh!!! (Ecchi is now hiding inside a mountain.) |
And Arthur C. Clarke was right too! I've just realised that when I told my computer to delete the file on the server (via FTP) and it refused because only The Program was allowed to do that, my computer was effectively saying:
"I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that." Again with the "Arrrgggggghhhhhhhh!!!" |
