David Bowie
Woke up this morning and the radio news was talking about how great David Bowie was. Within a couple of seconds I realised this must mean he is dead. He was a great musician, and original all the time. A great loss.
But to me he was also a local hero. He grew up in the next town along from the one I grew up in. So many of my family and friends had stories about knowing him before he was famous. Below, I'll post a couple of photos. One of him in a local park that I also played in as a child. The other a school photo showing Bowie. When walking my dog I often passed this school.
RIP David Bowie - We have lost a great performer.
