It's Friday which means absolutely nothing to me as every day is a work day at least for a couple of months more.

Enjoy!

Some idiot told the trains that it was Friday the 13th, I had a hell of a journey getting home. First train broke down. Second train re-routed so it didn't go where I wanted it to go, and 3rd train cancelled. Late home, and when I finally got on one it was (understandably) packed.

Still, I got steak and kidney pie for supper, so that is good.

|dog Puppy News (Sports Section)
The puppy found a new sport to follow: Remote control toy car racing. A couple of guys were racing them round the hard court in the park today, and the puppy was entranced. I think he was not sure what to make of them, and was trying to work out what these small animals racing round the court making a motor type noise were. He enjoyed it. I found it even more boning than kayak polo.

I flaked today... Met a friend for lunch, did some shopping, then back to her place to chill for awhile. Home now and Licker is making dinner :)

Friday the 13th hit me hard.

Video chip in my 17" laptop that is my workstation took a shit late Thursday. Did a walk-in at the Apple store first thing in the morning. Laptop has been sent out to have its motherboard replaced at a cost pf $310. Will have it back no later than Friday of next week.

Spent the last 24 hours setting up my old 13" laptop to be my workstation for the next week. Used the Mac migration utility to copy all my apps and everything to it from a TimeMachine backup. As of this morning, it's almost ready to start doing work on. It's old and underpowered, but better than nothing. I should have done this a long time ago just in case something like this happened. At least now I will have two laptops with all my apps and stuff on them once I get my 17" back.

Strange living in a place where Friday the 13th is a normal day. We don't worry about 13th floors, or the number 13 anything here. We had one not long after I started school, and I had to answer so many questions about it.

So, it was just a normal day here. Cleaning, adding new stuff, getting rid of old stuff. Nothing special here...

Friday 13th is a normal day everywhere. Just some weirdos are superstitious about it. (And usually it is the fundamental atheists who are the most suspicious - Those people who ardently preach that there is no God and that only fools believe in Him, are the most likely to believe that something bad will happen on Friday 13th. Which is even more stupid when you think about it, because the reason Friday 13th is considered unlucky is that Jesus was killed on a Friday and there were 13 people at the Last Supper!)

Sorry, I don't ever remember anyone saying anything about Friday the 12th for example, or Monday the 3rd. Friday the 13th is the only one the superstitious folk talk/joke about. The US does not have many addresses that end in 13, or 13th floors in skyscrapers. Well, they are there, but are not numbered as 13. Other cultures have their unlucky numbers. I have seen this fear of 13 cross religious boundaries in the US. Though Finland is largely Lutheran, there is no fear of the number 13. It's just another number.

Damn dude, judge much?!

But.......

Thanks ever so much for calling me a weirdo. I'd sure as shit rather be considered a weirdo that normal any day. Normal is just, well, fucking boring.

Sorry, I did not mean to cause offence, I was trying to be humorous. My apologies.

Friday 13th is a strange thing to be superstitious about though, because if you are an atheist and you believe it is unlucky you are saying that the Son Of God existed, and the Bible is correct about that, but being an atheist you also believe that God does not exist and the Bible is all fiction. However if you are a Christian, well it is a sin to believe in superstition, so if you are a Christian, you are risking your immortal soul by believing it is unlucky!

Maybe Friday the 13th is a god with a very twisted sense of humor.|pray|

But personally, I only worship my toaster as it makes me tasty toast. |loony|
