Tuesday 24th May - Anniversaries of: First commercial flight of Concorde; The opening of the Brooklyn Bridge; The opening of the first public garage; And the first telegraph message sent (which was "What hath God wrought?").
Been poorly. Think it was a reaction to my hepatitis B shot. Have been tired, weak and shivery since Saturday night, sleeping about 15 hours a day, and when at it's worst (Sunday evening) could not even make the stairs.
I am house/puppy/cat sitting for friends, and the puppy was incredibly patient when I was late feeding him on Sunday. He just lay down next to me and waited until I felt strong enough to make it up the stairs and feed him - which was hours. The cats were more demanding, as would the husky or the dalmatian been in the same situation. However after I finally fed him, and after his next meal, he stood over his empty bowl when he had finished eating, and demanded an extra tin of food! Presumably stocking up in case I was late again! |
No shots or pet sitting here.
Air BnB guest arrived at 1am. Now he is out looking for a job or something. I loved the guests that are gone most of the time. Work, gym, more work and then whatever comes my way is my day's plans so far. |
Been more offline than on last few days - a lot of people seem to be needing rides from a guy that has no vehicle |lol|

We been traveling the last few days. Saturday was the hubby's birthday, and we drove about an hour to Naantali - a suburb of Turku. Really pretty little town. Our president has his summer house there, and it's also the home of the Moomins. They are funny little trolls. We didn't see any. Petri loves Tex-Mex food, so we ended up at a restaurant called Pancho Villa. The food was just ho-hum to my tastes, but then I have to remember that Finns seem to lean towards bland foods. Jalapenos are totally exotic to them. While we were dining, the couple across the way began to get loud and ordered the waitress to come to their table. They complained about everything possible, getting louder and louder all the time. They even drowned out the live band playing outside. He ate his entire meal, she ate most of hers. Then they start saying how horrible it was and how they were not going to pay for the meal they just ate. Some of the other customers were taking pictures and recording on their cameras - all of which got shared with the police. These two were smooth, like they have done it before.
Today, we had to take the mother-in-law to Helsinki for an MRI and other special lab work. Just a little 2-1/2 hour ride each way. Lovely lovely weather! Still managed to get updates done. No real serious work done today because we have been gone all day, but my submit queue is empty. |
