LL Owners Banned Words List
 

I have been trying to make up a banned words list to filter submissions and wouldn't mind some input from LL owners/reviewers.

I notice several linklists don't like the word "young" being used at all... I saw GG's explanation in this thread

from posts around here that opinion would seem pretty common.. but before reading it here I had never considered "young" in itself to be sus at all... I agree that "young" needs to be used carefully.. but almost all women under 30 would think they are young imho... and it's not like it's some cp only keyword like ****** has become.. How harsh are people on young when reviewing?

I already don't take sites that use the word "school" in any form... mainly because less than 1% of people in "school" would be over 18 in most countries.. and that "school" would turn up in a lot more non-adult searches than those looking for porn... Does anyone else have issues with school?

Another set of keywords I am interested in opinions on is the borderline non-consensual words like "drunk", "tricked", "forced" and similar.

and... with the latest rash of old+young theme sites, what do people think about father/mother/mom/mum/dad as words that might be banned outright?

Lastly.. I have a gay linksite and get a lot of submissions talking about "beautiful boys" and "smooth boys" and other creepy sounding phases. 95% of the time these are describing 100% legal sites that dont appear to be pandering to cp at all... but the descriptions sounded so bad to me when taken out of context I banned the word "boy" totally from submissions... which cut submit numbers by almost half... what do other people do with "boy" on gay linksites?

Using boys period is not right. No matter how you say it, boy does NOT sound like someone over 18.

Girls on the other hand is okay if you do not put young in front of it. Hot girls, horny girls, college girls and young can be okay saying young babes, young hotties for example.

Overall, it's a judgement call. But anything sounding remotely to hint towards underage is not listed by me. And I Do Not list any of the mature sites promoting mature women having sex with delivery boys, or any boys at all!! |raygun|

I use "young lady" myself all the time.

I go back and forth on the term "Japanese schoolgirls" that is almost niche status as far as I am concerned. It is another it depends on the context that it is used.

And I was a schoolgirl at 30 by the time I had gone back and graduated from college, lol.

School is a bit like Boy for me RedCherry.. I can see that it really should be ok in the right context... but you dont get to choose the context that text is displayed in within SERP results..

I agree that to the general community that is correct.. and it's the reason I didn't want my site coming up in searches for "boy"..... but having a fairly well established gay linksite it has become obvious that "boy" is as commonly used by gay webmasters as "slut" is by straight ones.. I have no plan to change the policy but am definitely the odd man out amongst gay linklists.. I was really just wondering if anyone else that has a gay only linksite has the same dilema.. or maybe feels I am worrying too much. BTW.. this isnt an issue on my straight sites.. it seems to be a different group of webmasters that submit to gay only LLs.

I'd really like to know if anyone else has considered knocking back sites with a drunk theme?

I think the dunk theme is borderline rape. :(

I have lots of gay guy friends and they do use the word boy as a straight man would use the word babe, hottie or slut. It has nothing to do with age other then it usually means an attractive or desirable man.

I have learned that.... You know that.... and the webmaster submitting his site "Hot Miami Boy Posing" know's that too... but when the word boy ends up repeated so many times all over my site, I end up coming up for a LOT of really really undesirable sounding phrases in the SERPs... What made me bite the bullet and ban "boy" was looking at my stats one day and thinking that there was no way I could explain away search terms like "cute boys having their ass abused" to anyone outside the industry... and I never wanted to have to.. I wish I didn't feel like I have to ban the word though.. It's not like I feel like those webmasters are bad guys at all...

I have got some pissed off e-mails from webmasters that think I am not only a redneck asshole but out of my mind for rejecting them on that word. :)

But does anyone not accept it?

I think it may be a theme anti-porners could rightly use to punish us with too.. Telling young guys it's cool to get girls drunk for sex cant look good to many people and it's way too close to encouraging drink spiking imho.. which is a real problem that freaks just about everyone out.. against porn or not.

I decline if they use the word boy too much or in the wrong context. Same as my rules about the word young or a few dozen other words that can be abused if used in the wrong context.

Same thing for drunk girls it depends on the context of the site. A bunch of consenting adults getting drunk and fucking is fine. Getting some old woman drunk so that a bunch of young guys can fuck her is not.

BDSM is also like this. Tying up someone and hurting them is fine as long as it is consensual. Doing this to them against their will is not.

For me it comes down to anything is ok as long as it is between two consenting adults. If it even hints that this may not be the case then I decline it.

I'm in the "it depends" category -
If the site would otherwise would be listed, then it's all in context.

But that too, may still depend on context.

Though I do not list about 95% of these "very close to the line" sites... mature vs whatever.

What about "18 yo youn. girl"? or "legal age youn. girls"?

I agree with what GG said it really is all in the context of how it is written.

I do not put up sites with sponsors that have suss content , such as sites that promote mature lady ******* young boys, dads doing babes etc etc.

I almost agree with the context of the words. But, I really hate censorship of any kind. Banning words is a terrible road to start down. In any new business, people try things that just don't work. I have to assume that after time, banning words will pass. Words seem to lose their pejorative meaning after time.

You will be pleased to know I found it near impossible to make a word filter that worked the way I wanted... so apart from a few words that the webmaster gets a warning about when submitting.. I gave up on going too far with word banning.

I used the 50 thousand or so old submit emails I have copies of and tried searching them for all sorts of ways to acurately profile "problem" submitters just based on what they submit... and as hard as I tried there was no way I could find to effectively do it, and not catch some good submits too.

I'm just going to have to run a seperate, more elaborate script that tries to profile submits after they come in I think.. anyone with experience is very welcome to offer me any tips on writing this by PM btw ;-)

I have noticed one thing searching through old rejected submits though! If someone spells gallery in any of these ways... galery, gallrey, gallarey or galrey.. then watch out |skull|

I look at each use of the words - the word "young" is used quite a bit and I do have a personal adversion to its' overuse - but when used in combination with lady or woman, and is not used to intimate "c* p*".

I do get a lot of submits in the incest category which are immediately declined, as well as the "my buddies hot mom" type sites - not for censorship but just a personal dis-taste.

the "boy" term I usually let fly except in the case of some few that submit domains with young in the domain name as well, as boy is a very accepted phrase in the gay world, and does not try to promote anything illegal.

as far as the drunk, take advantage of, type sites - I ban every one I see - unless as mentioned before, it is a consensual act - the girl gets drunk and crazy on her own and wants to do it for the sex - hell I see thousands of real girls do it every year at Mardi Gras

On the other hand, I noticed that a lot of the "Cambria List" types of porn weren't even mentioned, which surprised me as I do see a lot of submits coming through for things that were "suggested" as terms and acts that (originally on boxcovers for adult videos) we as an industry might want to avoid :)

I don't recall the specifics of his recommendations now... but I am guessing you mean stuff like bukkake, fisting and watersports..

Imho the decision to list those niches... or any extreme hardcore.. is a personal one for the site owner... but if we want to stand up and say we are allowed to promote porn as it is free speech.. I think we also should be careful not to censor others where possible... "banned" was probably a bad choice of words when I was asking for suggestions.. I wasn't really wanting to ban the sites I dont like... more trying to identify webmasters I dont want any submits from based on the words that they target. (but it wasn't feasible)

BTW - one word you might want to add to your list - "actions" as in sex actions, hardcore actions etc. :) seems to ring a bell here - has almost become an immediate rejection |jester|
