.jfif Image Files - WTF?!
 

We all save a lot of images during our daily work.

About 2 weeks ago I started to notice that some of the image files I was downloading were .jfif and not .jpg - and when you open one in IrfanView, it tells you that it's actually a .jpg file & lets you rename it http://www.greenguysboard.com/board/...1&d=1652212732

I'm seeing it more & more & more...

Twitter, ElevatedX, a couple Hosted Galleries...

Anyone know WTF this is all about? Some way to hide .jpg files from image scrapers maybe?

It allows you to easily save any image you see as JPG, PNG or Webp with just a right click.

That's AWESOME! We should do a thread of what extensions we all use...

Ah.. how about an old form of .jpg? This article says you can just rename it but it is essentially old file structures and considered obsolete.
