TGIF April 14th

Good morning |waves|

Forgot to pop by yesterday. Worked then ran tax stuff to the account with the top down since it was 27C / 80F yesterday, beautiful afternoon for a drive then a few |beers| with friends on a patio. Got home to watch the Sens lose in OT to Buffalo on Anderson's last game in the NHL it seems, love that guy |thumb (played for the Sens for years and years)

Today is work along with a cottage run to meet a plumber and late afternoon were getting the Grandson for the night |thumb And the weather is beautiful again for the next 3 days |sun

The funk has spread big time, and deeper than before. We were going to do the Semi-Annual Tire Change Circus yesterday, so we scurried out in the morning to pick up fresh pastries for coffee from the bakery, some makings for lunch, and a couple of fittings for the air compressor. MIL decides (again!) that she is bringing some cheap nasty-tasting packaged muffins and an apple cake for coffee. She totally brushes aside the fact that The Husband and I have ALWAYS had fresh, tasty treats for their coffee break. She knows we treat the occasions as something special and often drive the 30 minutes into town for it. Yesterday, it just hit me at the wrong time. I am tired of being insulted, tired of the pushiness, tired of being snubbed. Mothers Day is coming up and we always do something very nice for her. The way I feel today, I won't even go. (For those that don't know the custom, the lady of the house has the delightful responsibility for always having something on hand for surprise coffee guests. It's a huge matter of pride here, and I have always done my best even though I grew up in the US.) So, I guess my best isn't even in the ballpark as far as she is concerned. That is why she buys stale crap from the grocery store and showers us with it.

The other fiasco is the air compressor took a dump yesterday. We have a new one on order, but... it is still a mess. I don't know if I can claw my way back up to the edge of this black pit yet. Maybe some porn will help? I dunno. I am not sure I care.

Morning! |waves|

My mood is a little better than yesterday, but not much. I figure throwing |cheers| on top of everything might be a good idea, so we're going out with a buddy tonight that will trigger the both of us, but it needs to be done.

Hi |waves|

Funk-wise, my new medicine is really doing its job. I've been relatively stable for 2 months now. But I had one of those "can't sleep" nights, so today is a mess. I'm hardly able to do anything, except for basic stuff.
|dog has been fine for quite some time now, btw.
|pray|

It's good to hear you are a bit better, |greenguy|
And I feel with you, Pagan. I feel a bit sad when I read about your ongoing struggles with your MIL. I hope a |smooch| helps a little bit.

Have a nice weekend, I'm probably gone until Tuesday

The frustration sounds real! Anyway, chin up and don't even look at those nasty grocery store items.

Good Morning :)

Pagan, MIL's can be a pain and that's why I am grateful that mine moved to the other side of the US years ago :D

Yesterday I fired up the laptop that I'll do taxes on. Had not been used since last tax season so it took a little over 3 hours for all the updates over the past year. Today I'll get the tax software loaded up, hopefully without issue, and make sure that's all set for Saturday input.

Besides that it will be grunt work all day.

Enjoy your Friday!

As for me, I'm semi-excited that the NHL playoffs are set to begin on Monday. My Leafs had a perfect road trip in Sunrise, Tampa, and NYC. Encouraging but I'm not fooled. It's the Leafs we're talking about here. They are masters of disappointment in the post-season.

Wife's car is in to have the winter tires removed today, and my softball draft is this weekend.

I want to see them make it out of the first round before I jump on the bandwagon! LOL

Pagan, I'm so sorry to hear that your MIL continues to be a pain in the ass. It sounds so frustrating!

Working away here today. It going to be another warm one. If fact, the weekend should be fantastic before it becomes more seasonable on Monday.

Just met with a client so I've go some work to do. It's the usual Euchre and Rummikub tonight.

Have a good one! |thumb

With a faint hope that Greenguy no longer will think of me as the worst person in the world; those new Metallica songs are damn good!
They're going on a loop atm :)

Been waiting for the entire album to come out!

Thanks for the shoulders guys. I have been trying to get used to the fact that I am the bad guy in their eyes. I am the intruder even though my mother was born here and we have relatives all over. I am the stupid one because my Finnish is not fluent and I don't know all the unwritten rules. I am the outsider because my father was American. She has told me in so many non-verbal ways that I don't belong here. And yet, she is happy with the fact that The Husband has quit drinking and smoking, and that we have our own house. He would have none of that without me and yet... I don't belong. I am not good enough...

Everyone in Canada will be watching that series. Some to cheer the Leafs and the others waiting for them to lose again :D Personally, I think they'll do it and get by Tampa and out of round 1 but then they're toast
