Need comments on my design please
 

Hi guys,
was wondering what you all thought of my new design?
Its just a test page for now so the thumbs are mostly auto cropped by comus. It will go up once my dedicated box is up

The design is fine, nice and simple.

Seems like it is going to load pretty slow for dialup users.

Where are you going to fit the advertising?

the design is cool.. but same issue as Cleo. Its way too slow to load, even on cable for me.. maybe optimise it or look at your hosting.

Nice simple design and a good colour scheme, I like it :)

I don't think Thumb preview TGPs are really aimed at dialup users. For that matter, fewer websites are being made with dialup in mind thesedays, and I for one think it's a good thing.

The test page was indeed on a slow server, its switched to a new dedicate box now.

Could you please be so kind to check the speed again ?

The whole page loads in about 30 seconds on DSL for me.

You could make that faster by compressing the jpegs more. The ones I looked at were about 13K each.

I've seen similar sites that manage to compress their thumbs to about 3K.

So even if you only compress to 6K, the whole page would be much quicker.

Seems there wase a problem with my imagemagick setup. Thumbs are now only 1/3 in size of what they were.

Seems better now.. but i think you have removed some of the panels of thumbs since I last looked.. the server doesnt "feel" any faster for me.. but the page loads fast enough now so I would wait to see it I think.

It loads pretty fast for me (cable modem). I love the color scheme and layout. I really like the mouseover script you're using on the thumbs to change the color/opacity. Very cool. |cool|
