Sunday, September 17th - ARRRRGHHH!!!

So, I slept almost 8 hours yesterday (a record for me lately). I scrambled to get everything caught up and done... was on a great pace to do it, too and then... the phone rang. My mother-in-law had fallen after getting out of the sauna. Bad... The Husband went about 10 shades of white. She was bleeding and had a good bump on her head. So, he goes flying out of here and races to the next town over. He was the one to call the ambulance because she told her husband not to. GRRRRR. The ambulance gets there, and because there is no active treatment they can do, they would not transport her to the hospital nearly an hour away. The Husband had to do it. She is nearly 80, has osteoporosis, and has just fallen. She was dizzy, nauseated, and headachy and they would do nothing for her except tell her she needed to go get stitches. This is our new government's budget cuts at work. Thankfully, The Husband had his act together enough to get her there safely, but also get them home. He walked in at 3:30 this morning, totally wiped out. He caught a nap and then headed over there to clean up from her accident. He will be there the full day I expect. She is doing as well as can be expected today - sore but lucid. I wish we were closer to them, but they don't want to move.

So, I am going to try to get the porn machine moving. I am not so distracted today. I have stopped glancing at my phone every minute waiting for updates. Best get it done while he is cleaning...

Good morning from Prague |waves|

I slept quite well too, pretty much 8 hours to 5:30 so already adpating to European time being 6 hours ahead |thumb I've been working all morning and it's already 2pm here, time flies |huh Wanting to get things done so I don't need to worry about it tomorrow as I have a seminar all day tomorrow 10am-3pm. Ok, going to work a bit more then maybe a snack as I'm meeting friends for drinks and dinner later |thumb

Pagan, that blows! At 80, they should be taking her to the hospital after a fall like that :(

Sounds like fun in Prague. Heard it is a great place to visit..

and yes, I expected they would not only transport her, but keep her overnight. But, what do you expect early on a Saturday night? They did give a lame excuse that if they did take her they might have to leave her somewhere to take a more urgent call. They never ever used to be that way. I can understand budget cuts, but no person should be treated that way. Lord knows I don't always see eye to eye with the MIL, but she (and other elderlies) deserve proper care.

Morning. |coffee

^ Sorry about your MIL, Pagan. They should have taken her.

In Canada they don't do that, however, the big issue here is the closing of rural hospitals. People or ambulances have to drive further and further to get emergency treatment.

My head continues to buzz wildly. It's hard to think with any clarity.

I'm at home until about 2 pm. Then I get to clean my BIL's place. I've made the decision to put him in a home as it's becoming too much for me. He owes his condo and has a decent pension so he'll be fine money wise. The selling his place, find a home and moving him will begin likely next month.

Have a good one! |thumb

Good evening |waves|

Sorry to hear about your MIL Pagan.
I wish her a healthy recovery, and I wish all the best to the rest of you.

"Busy" day. Formula 1 and my soccer team was playing at the same time, so I had them both on my monitors.
Both of them were good, my team won and F1 was really exciting to watch.

Taking it calm, since my two next weeks are pretty busy.

Take care

The husband has again raced over to their place. (He spent the day with them, just getting home about 3 hours ago.) She went limp a little bit ago and now has a fever. The ambulance did take her as far as their local health center, who decided she needs to be transported to the main hospital an hour away. So we are back on sit and wait status. It will probably be a couple more hours before we know anything. I really am trying to get work done, but it is almost impossible right now. I bet it is another night of The Husband coming in at 3am..
