Penisbot graphic buttons?
 

Hi Folks,

I would like to try and start submitting sites to Penisbot but I'm having diffuculty downloading their graphic buttons. I go to the page they are at, right click on it and it's a gif in the properties but when I download it it comes as a bmp.
I have never worked with bmp before and it's not the button (flashing gif) just part of it.
Any ideas what to do?
Ive written to them but no reply as of yet just wondered if anyone on here was familiar with using these buttons or what I should do! Thanks,

From what I understand you need to clear your browser's cache. It is an IE issue, their recips are not bmp images, they are gifs.

Clear your cache and set IE's Temp. Internet Files to < 81MB

same problem here tryed all kinds of things saves as a bitman

kit told me he dont no why it does that on some peoples machine he told me to go to the cat you want to submitt to and pull the image off a free site listed and save to your HD and upload to your server and fix the img src and presto you have a penis bot gif thats works..

I tried clearing the cache and changed the temp internet files to 81MB, still no luck.
So I tried on the GF computer and still only save option was as a bmp.
I will just go to the cats. as you suggested and pull the various recips from there, I should have done that in the first place...doh

I’m also getting bmp files with IE.
Just use a different browser like Netscape or Opera to download the gif.

It tried to save it as a bmp for me as well, which is really strange since I dumped my cache yesterday.

This has been happening to me for a while with their graphic buttons. What I do is right click and choose "E-mail Picture" and send it to myself. Then I just open the e-mail and save the graphic to the directory with the free site I'm making. Seems to work but this is a very strange thing.

I don't use Windows so maybe it is different but I can right mouse click and name something anything that I want with any file extension while saving from the web. Or I can just rename the file later on to whatever I want with whatever file extension that I want correct or not.

In Internet Explorer:

Tools -> Internet Options -> Delete Files... -> Check the "Delete all offline content" box -> OK

wait until it's done and then refresh the page or open another browser window and all should be ok again for a while

I've tried that a few times. Usually that works but not for the PenisBot graphics.

I did that yesterday - LOL - I can save images from anyplace else that I've tried, but not PenisBot - all bitmaps :(

Same for me, but as suggested I am picking the buttons from a site already listed in that category. And I did clear my cache.

hmmm.. looks like it's gonna be the "Email Picture" option from now on with Penisbot.. maybe kit should putthat on his recip pages :D

You can "Save Target As" from the hyperlinks to the right of each recip.

*edited to add one possibility....

If these recip pages are generated by a script (which I think they are), IE is sometimes not able to save this kind of dynamic content with the correct file name.

I'm sure now, this is the problem related to apache mod_rewrite module. I think we will move buttons page out of mod_rewrite rules area and hope it help.

There is no problem to use text links. We accept them without any problems.
